Alex Carey pre-meditated the fuller one from Mohammed Siraj there.
This is far too funky - just bowl to a normal field!
There is a bit of cat and mouse as Rohit Sharma plays around with his field, with a leg slip and two men out on the pull.
But Alex Carey does not fall for it and steps away, opening the face and guiding a full delivery from Mohammed Siraj away for four.
It was smart fielding from Axar Patel, but the single was never really on for Mitchell Starc.
There are three slips in place for Pat Cummins - and that's why. The Aussie goes for a wild swing and a miss as Shardul Thakur probes outside his off stump.
Thakur then strays onto leg allowing Cummins to clip off his pads to finally get off the mark with a two.
Carey 15, Cummins 0
That's actually well played by Alex Carey as he reads a short ball from Mohammed Siraj and plays a controlled pull to the square leg boundary for a single.
Carey smashed 111 against South Africa over the winter so he can bat.

That was awkwardly played by Cummins, who will be thinking, 'There's a bit in this pitch, I'll remember that!'
India are getting a bit of excitement out of this surface.
Wow, where did that come from?!
Shardul Thakur gets one to leap up off a length at Pat Cummins, with the ball smashing into his shoulder and flying into the off side.
It is all happening at the moment as we edge towards lunch.
Pat Cummins is the new batter and blocks out his first delivery.
This had been India's morning.
We have just seen a shot of Ricky Ponting in one of the media studios shaking his head after looking at a replay of the run out. The former skipper is not impressed.
Run outs by sub fielders can be a sensitive subject with Ricky.

What a strange run from Starc. He patted the ball straight to the fielder and is gone by a county mile.
He has run himself out.
Starc run out 5 (Aus 402-7)
With good reason. Starc was a good yard from his crease.
It was a smart bit of fielding by sub fielder Axar Patel, but there was never really a single there.
A bonus wicket for India.
Mitchell Starc is walking off already...

Surely he is run out?!
Has Mitchell Starc run himself out here?
He went for the risky single with a push straight to mid-off and a direct hit leaves him in trouble.
The umpire sends it upstairs.
Mitchell Starc opens the face and guides the ball square for a single that brings up the Australia 400.
Shardul Thakur is going over the wicket to Starc, but switches to around the wicket to fellow left-hander Alex Carey.
Mohammed Siraj, who bowled with fire and aggression this morning, is coming back into the attack.
That will relieve the pressure bit. A wild leg-side delivery from Umesh Yadav sails past Alex Carey and a diving Srikar Bharat for four byes.
Australia will take that. The India fans in the crowd are not too concerned, though. They are generating a wonderful atmosphere in The Oval, which looks close to a sell out.

Our theory in the last Ashes was if we attacked Jack Leach early, England might have gone for a four-pronged pace attack which is a massive mistake in Australia.
Whichever spinner England play, whether it is Moeen Ali, Australia will be ultra aggressive.
Just a couple of singles from Shardul Thakur's latest over as Australia look to rebuild.
We have just over 30 minutes until lunch. India would love another wicket or two before then.
India will have had all sorts of plans for Steve Smith. I'm guessing chopping on to a loose wide delivery outside off stump was not among them.
It is Umesh Yadav's turn to get Mitchell Starc groping nervously outside his off stump.
Australia looked on course for over 500 half an hour ago, but now India will be hoping to keep them under 450.
