So Ed Smale (at 15.50) wants to leave out Malan, who's just scored 54, 96 and 127, and replace him with Roy or Brook! Why???

Kyle Jamieson lumbers his hulking frame into his delivery stride as New Zealand attempt to stifle England's strokeplay in these final few overs.
Brydon Carse takes on a bouncer from Jamieson and hooks one off the face beyond short third to pick up a couple of runs.
Jamieson finishes with 1-53 from his 10 overs.

Don’t like seeing Root out of form. It’s rather unsettling like a dependable watch stops working.

That kind of dismissal can happen at Lord's. Matt Henry is bowling from the Pavilion End so the slope is going away from Curran. He thinks it is going on to middle stump so he tries to hit it through the on-side, but it just holds its line and cannons into off.
Well bowled from Henry, using the facilities.
Curran b Henry 20 (Eng 282-8)
A few balls later and Sam Curran is gone, though.
It's a stock delivery from Matt Henry, full-ish, which beats a half-hearted prod from Curran and clatters into the left-hander's stumps.
Another quite tame dismissal for England.

The dive from Curran saves him.
Sam Curran is comfortably in his ground.

No great excitement from the New Zealanders, which suggests they think it's in.
David Willey flicks one from Matt Henry off his pads for four.
Next ball Willey sets off for a brisk single, and Sam Curran dives to make his ground at the striker's end after the stumps are broken by clever deflection from Henry using his boot.
The umpires will just take a quick look.
Kyle Jamieson hangs it up outside off stump but Sam Curran picks up the line and length early and waspishly drives it through the covers for four.
Nice shot.
Livingstone lbw b Jamieson 28 (Eng 270-7)
It looked fairly plumb, and it was. Liam Livingstone's front foot was rooted to the spot.
A fairly scratchy innings from the England batter comes to an end.
Definitely no bat involved.

Looked pretty straight to me. Like it was going to cannon into middle stump.
Kyle Jamieson returns to the attack and hits Liam Livingstone, who misses a straight-ish one attempting to work it to leg, on the pad.
It's given out on field, but the Lancashire man reviews.
Sam Curran isn't wasting many balls as he attempts to reignite England's innings in these final few overs.
Rachin Ravindra with a filthy wide full toss almost draws Curran, hands well away from his body, into a false shot down the ground but the England all-rounder is just able to get enough power on it to reach the boundary.
Meanwhile, here's how Ravindra dismissed Dawid Malan a little while ago.
Sam Curran has some success where Liam Livingstone has struggled against Daryl Mitchell's dobbers.
Curran rocks on to the back foot and wristly thrashes Mitchell's fourth ball to the fence for four. A shot bristling with his his busy intent.
It's also England's first boundary in five overs.

Here's my first choice for the World Cup: Roy, Bairstow, Root, Brook, Stokes, Buttler, Livingstone, Curran, Woakes, Rashid, Wood.
Ed Smale
Moeen c sub (Boult) b Ravindra 3 (Eng 250-6)
Moeen Ali's stay at the crease is a brief one. Eight balls, in fact.
An extravagant flash off the blade to a wider delivery from Rachin Ravindra - so wide it would have been called a wide if he left it - sees him sky the ball in the direction of mid-off.
Trent Boult, on as a substitute fielder, waits an age for the ball to plop into his hands. He briefly fumbles before gathering at the second attempt.
Ravindra is eyeing a Lord's five-for here.
Liam Livingstone is still struggling to middle anything against Daryl Mitchell's gentle medium pace. Mitchell's third ball brings another big waft from the Lancashire batter but it's another fresh air shot.
Mitchell has a respectable 1-23 off five overs.
