    Satheesh 51, Rodrigues 37

England skipper Heather Knight is still attacking with two slips for Kate Cross, as she has done for much of the morning. That's one reason why the run-rate has been so high.

There wasn't a lot of movement for Cross with the new ball and there is even less now. There'll be one more over before lunch.

This call-up for Shubha Satheesh, which also includes a place in the squad to play Australia in the Test in Mumbai next week, is the first time Satheesh has been in a full India squad.

It has been quite the month after she was picked up in the WPL for around £9,400 too.

It's been a remarkable innings from Satheesh Shubha. She has played with the calmness and composure of a Test veteran and yet, still scored her half-century from 49 balls.

India's batting line-up is top-heavy and has been for a while - there is perhaps an over-reliance on Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur, so this kind of solidity is something they have been crying out for.

    The best of the lot!

Where have India been hiding Shubha Satheesh?!

She drives Kate Cross back past her bowling boot to bring up a 49-ball fifty which is warmly applauded by her team-mates on the sidelines.

But it's just more of the same from Shubha Satheesh.

She's not the tallest and that means she can jump on the back foot to a ball that is only slightly short, as she does here with another cut.

Satheesh uses her wrists brilliantly to manoeuvre the ball around.

Kate Cross is back into the attack with England keen to break this blossoming partnership.

  8. Ind 123-2published at 23 overs

    Satheesh 42, Rodrigues 37

Jemimah Rodrigues bashes away a filthy full toss from Sophie Ecclestone now.

There's a bit for England to think about here.

  9. Ind 118-2published at 22 overs

India's run-rate is up over fives now with Rodrigues working the ball smartly into the deep with a wristy flick. She punches her bat to applaud batting partner Shubha Satheesh as they return for two.

This partnership is worth 71 inside 14 overs and is moving the hosts into the ascendancy.

  10. Ind 114-2published at 21.1 overs

More classy batting from Jemimah Rodrigues!

She beats sub fielder Maia Bouchier with a drive through extra cover.

In the T20 series - and in fact, in almost every series Sophie Ecclestone plays - we see teams freeze and panic when she comes on to bowl.

It's understandable, given her reputation and skill.

So it's quite something that Shubha Satheesh, on international debut, immediately backs herself to take on that challenge.

  12. Ind 110-2published at 21 overs

Shubha Satheesh continues to impress on her international debut as she rocks back to punch her first ball from Sophie Ecclestone through the covers.

Satheesh was signed by RCB in the recent WPL auction but has no franchise experience. She has come through the domestic set-up in India at Karnataka.

With the ball turning for Charlie Dean, Heather Knight turns straight to her premier spinner in Sophie Ecclestone...

  14. Ind 101-2published at 20 overs

    Satheesh 32, Rodrigues 25

Woah! Big turn for Charlie Dean as the ball nearly wipes out the fielder at slip.

That was vicious turn and it encourages England captain Heather Knight to bring in another close catcher. Dean, however, drops way too short and Shubha Satheesh cuts for four before sweeping another to the rope.

A frustrating over and India's 100 is up.

  15. Ind 91-2published at 19 overs

    Satheesh 24, Rodrigues 25

That inconsistency Ffion mentions rears it's head in Filer's latest over as a full ball is flicked off the pads by Jemimah Rodrigues. After an edgy start, Rodrigues is looking good now.

This is a very similar spell to Lauren Filer's England debut in the summer's Ashes Test - and that will please Heather Knight because it's exactly what they pick her for.

With an India partnership settling, her added pace has just injected a bit of life to a flat pitch and is putting a few questions in the batters' minds.

She did the same to Ellyse Perry at Trent Bridge, and ended up getting her out twice in the match.

She's inconsistent, but in a way that helps her because the batters have no idea what is coming.

  17. Ind 84-2published at 18 overs

There's encouraging turn for Dean on her first delivery which is wide of off stump. This India duo are respectful as a result.

Time for a first look at spin in the match.

It's off-spinner Charlie Dean rather than Sophie Ecclestone...

  19. Ind 83-2published at 17 overs

And now another wicked ball from Filer almost cuts Rodrigues in two as it flashes between inside edge, body and the stumps.

India's run rate is almost five.

  20. Ind 77-2published at 16.3 overs

    What was I saying?

Jemimah Rodrigues hops on one foot, swivels and plays a pull off Lauren Filer which flashes to the boundary.

A couple of balls later a ball from England's pacer jags off the pitch, beating wicketkeeper Amy Jones for travelling for four byes.
