  1. Ind 109-3published at 30 overs

Just a couple of leg byes off Mark Wood's over.

Rohit Sharma runs the single, but since lunch he's yet to score a run off the bat.

  2. Ind 107-3published at 29 overs

Hartley rattles through a maiden bowling to Rohit.

England only managed 25 overs in the morning session, so a few swift overs will be welcome.

It has been the perfect start for India after the lunch. The brilliant partnership between Jadeja and Rohit is building and the conditions looking favourable for batting. India will be looking to maximise in the session.

  4. Ind 107-3published at 28 overs

Wood draws Jadeja's edge... but the ball stays low and flies wide of Ollie Pope and races off to the boundary.

The England seamer responds by scudding a bouncer past Jadeja's grille.

  5. Ind 101-3published at 27 overs

Just a single from Hartley's over from a Jadeja push into the leg side.

Meanwhile Dan Lawrence is on the field in place of James Anderson. The soon to be Surrey batter, who was a late call-up to this squad, actually squeezed in a couple of International League T20 matches while England took a mid-series break in the UAE, scoring 15 and 7 for Desert Vipers.

It will be important for Stokes to manage his bowlers effectively - using Wood in short, impactful spells and also rotating bowlers to get the key breakthroughs.

  7. Ind 100-3published at 26 overs

Seven runs from the opening over of the session as Jadeja works Wood's bowling into the deep.

Twos come in the covers and worked off the legs, before a final ball three into mid-wicket brings up India's hundred.

England should try the short ball tactic to Rohit straight after lunch. He is a compulsive hooker and has been out playing the shot a lot in his career.

Ben Stokes has lead his charges back onto the field and Mark Wood has the ball in hand.

He had great fun at the start of the morning session, can he repeat the trick in the afternoon?

England will have enjoyed their lunch but must focus on eliminating the four ball this afternoon.

Will India have been discussing their decision to bat over lunch? They had a pretty disastrous first hour, but this Rohit-Jadeja partnership is now worth 60 and the pitch, while offering some bounce, hasn't looked too spicy.

There's potential to push on in this session...

  12. Bedingham gives South Africa hope of winpublished at 06:32 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

Elsewhere in the world, (Durham's) David Bedingham has hit his first Test century for South Africa in what looks an intriguing second Test against New Zealand.

His 101 helped the under-strength Proteas set the Black Caps 267 to win.

New Zealand lost Devon Conway and are 40-1 at the end of day three.

Things are much more one-sided in Australia in the women's Test. South Africa have been bowled out for just 76 in Perth.

You can listen to commentary on that one from our friends at ABC here.

As we've said already, this is Ben Stokes 100th Test so what better way to celebrate than by looking back on some of those moments from his career so far.

We've shortlisted 10 and want you to rank them.

I reckon there might be a standout one - yes, you know which I mean - but it's tough after that.

  14. What you've missedpublished at 06:25 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

Anyway, if you're just waking up and staring blearily at your phone, you've missed quite a session. And if you think 93-3 is good for England, consider that it was 33-3 in the first hour.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has enjoyed an excellent series but Mark Wood winkled him out in the fourth over, the India opener edging to Joe Root at first slip. Wood then bagged Shubman Gill for a duck in his next over, before Rajat Patidar spooned a catch to Ben Duckett off the bowling of Tom Hartley.

Since then the experienced hands of Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja have started to rebuild the India innings, with Sharma passing fifty just before lunch. His innings hasn't been without incident though, with Joe Root spilling a tough chance when the opener was on 27.

    Thanks Matt.

A forty minute break, nothing much else to do in the early hours - there must be some cricket enthusiasts whipping up some quite elaborate breakfasts right now.

On the other hand you might have sleepily opened your fridge to discover it empty bar an out of date bottle of mayonnaise. Can it be eaten as a sort of funky yoghurt equivalent? Only one way to find out...

    Keep the faith, Tim.

I'm off to find some breakfast. You'll have the pleasure of Mike Peter for the next few hours...

Thought one of the benefits of a 10 day old not sleeping was watching the cricket, she finally decides to sleep for the first time and England take 3 early wickets. She wakes up screaming and I’ve now got to watch India pile on 600-5.

Definitely England’s session but runs have come too easily off the spinners. How different it might have been had Rohit been taken at slip. It wasn’t a 10/10 chance but probably a six.

Excellent first session for England. Just enough movement for Wood to expose the vulnerability of the Indian techniques.

Though Rohit looks in the mood and is due - the dropped catch is the moment as you can’t give such a good player a second chance.
