    Now we're talking, Nick.

Rehan Ahmed second ball in the innings is cut for four by Shubman Gill. This is getting pretty ugly for England.

Door seal has just gone on my fridge so I’m open to any suggestions for a quick fix - for the fridge and for Bazball!

Rehan Ahmed is on for a bowl.

  4. 50 runs

    Fifty for Yashasvi Jaiswal!

He gets there by pounding a full toss from Tom Hartley into the stands and follows it with another into the same area over mid-on.

He's going to be around for a long, long time.

I say that but there will not be much cheer in mind of James Anderson at the moment. After pulling a four, Yashasvi Jaiswal has a massive swing to another and edges through where slip would have been.

He then slams a six over deep square-leg.

Anyway, shall we all cheer up a bit?

This page is much better when we all help each other fix a fridge.

I'd like to know who put you in charge of how the game should be played, Adam.

Perhaps people just have a different opinion?

I agree with Mark. Bazball is aimed at people who don't actually like or understand Test cricket. I've had enough of its vacuous cheerleaders. Only three countries play a significant amount of Test cricket: us, Australia and India. Baz hasn't won a series against either. A home series victory against South Africa, two years ago, does not warrant this cult like following. If people don't like Test cricket that's completely fine but let those of us who do, get on with it and don't troll us when we make legitimate points about nuances of the game you don't understand.

You may have seen the Telegraph, external is calling Joe Root's scoop this morning the stupidest shot in English cricketing history.

There must have been some worse in club cricket. Let know know if any spring to mind.

People need to be reminded that PreBB (preBazball) England's last six innings in Tests playing in India were 135, 235, 81, 112, 164 and 134 resulting in two innings' defeats and a 10 wicket hammering. Oh, but at least they batted sensibly for 55 overs in that last innings.

And here is Jimmy Anderson, running in with his left hand over the ball in an attempt to keep the batter guessing.

Ah. Anderson's second delivery is short and wide.

Gill chops it to the boundary and the 41-year-old looks thoroughly disgusted with himself, the crease and pretty much everything in Rajkot right now.

Jimmy Anderson is limbering up through some stretches since this ball is moving a little.

That we've managed to get 2/3rds into today's play and we've lost all hope of winning this Test is pretty extraordinary.

Mark Wood is bowling straight and trying to sneak one onto Shubman Gill's pad for an lbw shout. There's a little bit of reverse swing for him there and Ben Foakes applauds high above his head as Gill gets down on the ball a little late.

Once he drifts wide, however, Gill punishes the Durham quick through the civers.

I'm still worried about Tom Hartley's scalp in the sun given his Bobby Charlton-style combover.

Mark Wood is back on the field and fine to continue you'll be pleased to know.

The England fans continue to sing in the stands but there's not a lot happening for them on the field.

Mark Wood nips off the field at the end of his latest over.

Joe Root at slip is the only close catcher England have to Tom Hartley which means there isn't the same theatre around every ball as when Kuldeep Yadav was spinning his web earlier.

Shubman Gill thinks about smacking Hartley into the stands but decides better of it.

I get a bit tired of people complaining about the fickleness of England fans and how we/they 'turn' on the team after a poor performance. It's not about 'turning' on them, it's about being dismayed that at times the team can't seem to read the situation well enough to adapt. With India a bowler down there was an opportunity to capitalise, but through some injudicious play AND some very good bowling, we are close to being out of the game from a point when we were right IN it.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is the latest India batter to get a talking to by the umpire for running down the middle of the pitch.

England could do with a few more bonus runs or some of those punishments you were sending in yesterday, like forcing Jasprit Bumrah to bowl bare-footed.

England have got to keep going, somehow.
