    Warwks 125-2 v Worcs 360

Shot! Leg side from Matthew Waite and that's a very tidy dab into square leg by Ed Barnard for four.

A bit of width from Jason Holder at the other end and Will Rhodes cuts backward of square for four more.

Two more off the third ball, sliced through cover point after a superb stop of the boundary.

    BBC Radio Northampton

When these two sides last met in Championship cricket in 2021 Saif Zaib made 100 for Northamptonshire against Sussex.

It was his first one and they finished the match off here with a bit of a flourish on that Sunday morning.

Northamptonshire won very early, we wondered if they wanted to head for the beach or they fancied some candy floss on the pier - I doubt it!

  3. Postpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 6 April

    Sussex v Northants 261-6

Northants had been becalmed somewhat since the wicket of Rob Keogh, but Saif Zaib seizes on an over pitched ball from Danny Lamb, driving through cover for four.

It's worth mentioning that Chris Tremain, who may be in next, does have a first class century to his name, but if Northants are to get more batting points this is surely the key partnership.

  4. Postpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 6 April

    Notts 160-4 v Surrey

Leg spinner Matt Critchley tosses one up and Jack Haynes steps into it and crunches him to the extra cover boundary.

  5. 50 runs

for Harry Finchpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 6 April

    Kent 191-5 v Somerset

A good fightback from the home side at Canterbury.

Harry Finch and Joey Evison have put on 80 for the sixth wicket and Finch moves to a fine half-century, albeit with a rather lucky under edge down to fine leg off Matt Renshaw.

Finch is playing more of an anchor role, while Evison is using his power to get to 36 off 50 balls.

  6. 50 runs

50 for Joe Clarkepublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 6 April

    Notts 153-4 v Essex 253

Joe Clarke move to his half-century, including six fours and one six, as Nottinghamshire reduce Essex's lead to 100.

  7. Postpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warwks 114-2 v Worcs 360

Matthew Waite is in the attack and Barnard leaves outside off.

A tidy enough maiden over without actually troubling Ed Barnard.

There's a brief pause here as the PA calls for the stewards to go to their posts...but we're fine to carry on!

Jason Holder bowls wide outside off. It's a no ball, cut away for a single.

Sam Northeast at Lord'sImage source, Rex Features

Here is Sam Northeast heading up the steps into the Lord's Pavilion with the highest ever first-class score at the world's most famous cricket ground to his name.

    What a feeling!

A history maker in a place steeped in history.

The only problem is that Northeast can't really soak it in - he's now got to marshal his bowlers as Glamorgan's new red-ball captain.

  9. Postpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 6 April

    Sussex v Northants 255-6

Ollie Robinson is bowling a tight line just back of a length to Saif Zaib, who defends into the off side.

We now have a deep backward square and a long leg in for Robinson.

But he continues to pitch the ball up outside off and Zaib leaves it.

    A double bluff, perhaps.

  10. Postpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 6 April

    Lancs 84-1 v Surrey

    Up periscope!

Luke Wells ducks a Jamie Overton bouncer, but leaves the bat waving in the air above him. The ball flies off it, over the slips and down to the boundary for four bizarre runs.

  11. Postpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 6 April

    Sussex v Northants 253-6

Lewis McManus sees out the Robinson over after Keogh's dismissal and gets off the mark in the next over with a glance through mid wicket off Jayden Seales for four.

That brings up 250 and a first Northants batting point of the season in the 90th over.

  12. Postpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 6 April

    Notts 135-4 v Essyx 253

Clarke and Haynes have been chipping away at Trent Bridge in steady fashion, having added 36 since the dismissal of Matthew Montgomery.

  13. Postpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 6 April

    Yorks v Leics 228-8

Ben Mike keeps Leicestershire ticking over as he drives Matt Fisher back, between the stumps and the non-striker, to the boundary.

Barnard off to a flierpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warwks 108-2 v Worcs 360

Ed Barnard is in next and he's off the mark first ball with a swivel pull behind square leg for six!

WICKET Davies c Jones b Finch 36published at 14:59 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warwks 102-2 v Worcs 36

It's been a quiet hour for the Pears but Adam Finch has the breakthrough.

The ball is short, pulled and caught via the top edge by Rob Jones, who had only just been stationed at mid wicket.

  16. wicket

WICKET - Cox b Fisher 32published at 14:56 British Summer Time 6 April

    Yorks v Leics 215-8

A sight for all fast bowlers - Ben Cox's off stump goes catwheeling out of the ground as Matt Fisher ends his resistance in spectacular fashion.

  17. wicket

WICKET Keogh c Alsop b Robinson 9published at 14:55 British Summer Time 6 April

    Sussex v Northants 248-6

Sussex are wrestling control of this game away from Northants as Robinson takes his first scalp of the season.

  18. Postpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 6 April

    Warwks 102-1 v Worcs 360

Nathan Smith has struggled a little with his line, offering a bit too much width outside off stump.

But the last ball of his over is on the leg stump and clipped to mid wicket by Will Rhodes for four.

That brings up the Warwickshire 100 in 27 overs.

  19. Postpublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 6 April

    Lancs 67-1 v Surrey

Luke Wells has been quietly squirreling away, watching Josh Bohannon overtake him but he gets stuck into Dan Lawrence with a four to square leg.

Later in the same over he lifts him to midwicket, but on the damp turf the ball loses all momentum and he just gets two.

  20. Postpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 6 April

    Sussex v Northants 247-5

Good news. The sun is perilously close to coming out at Hove.

Saif Zaib is getting into his stride with a brace of fours against Ollie Robinson, one slapped through point and the other edged fortuitously through a vacant gully.

Zaib is seemingly beaten outside off next ball, though he may have just withdrawn his bat.

There's no doubt about the quality of bowling from Robinson though, persisting with an attacking line and hitting the deck hard.
