    Sam Northeast came to the crease yesterday morning at 16-1. He leaves it as a Lord's record holder.

    Northeast batted 392 balls for his 335 not out, hitting 36 fours and six sixes.

    He put on 129 with Billy Root (67) for the second wicket.

    He put on 176 with Kiran Carlson (77) for the third wicket.

    He shared an unbroken stand of 299 with Colin Ingram, who ends on 132 not out - a very impressive score in most circumstances.

    Northeast's effort is the highest Championship score ever recorded in April.

    And then he decides, as captain, that it's time to finish the innings and so he walks off unbeaten.

    He takes in the applause of the Lord's crowd as the highest ever scorer in an innings at Lord's, eclipsing Graham Gooch's iconic 333 against India in 1990.

    Ollie Robinson is back on and getting the ball to swing both ways as he tries to dislodge Saif Zaib.

    He pitches up outside off and Zaib withdraws his bat very late.

    The third ball is driven down the ground for four. Rhodes gets a single to long leg and Davies brings up the 50 partnership in 68 balls with a gentle steer wide of the slips for four more.

    That is a big wicket for Somerset it feels like, you can tell from the celebrations.

    That was a very expansive shot, Ben Compton didn't necessarily need to play it. He is incredibly frustrated, he'll feel that.

    Compton is getting warm applause but he is not a happy man, he obviously feels responsibility for the team because of the predicament that they've got in.

    Kent have got themselves into a bit of a pickle.
