Tottenham fan Danny, who was invited into the dugout and given a gilet by boss Tim Sherwood: "It was a great moment and something I will never forget. He's not frightened to talk with the fans and all season we have had good banter with him.

"During the game I called a couple of substitutions and he just so happened to make them. I also called him to put young Alex Pritchard on which he did and he said, 'you know what, you might as well come and sit in the hot-seat'. So I thought why not? It was just surreal. I didn't know if I would get in trouble but I'm a lifelong Spurs fan - not many people can say they have sat in the manager's seat while Premier League is going on.

"To be fair I didn't take the gilet off but he told me I could keep it, and he shook my hand and patted me on the back."

James Milner, Manchester City midfielder: "The new manager has won trophies in his first season, and you can't argue with that. He came in and changed a few things, including how we defended. He wanted us to play attacking, and we've scored a lot of goals this year as well as being tight at the back. And the players adapted, which is never easy. It takes a full squad to win a trophy and we've done that."

"Are City now the dominant force in English football? That remains to be seen. Chelsea will come on strong next season. Arsenal, we're not sure quite what's going to happen with them. They topped the table for so long earlier in the season. We're yet to see what's going to happen with Manchester United.

"Then there's of course Liverpool, with rumours that Luis Suarez will be much-wanted throughout Europe. This was Liverpool's best title-winning opportunity, and it might be quite a few seasons before that opportunity rolls round again."

Sweet as a nut, straight as an arrow. An absolute belter to put this game to bed as George Thorne thrashes home a volley from 30 yards.

The Derby mascot, a giant-headed Ram, is right in amongst the celebrations and I don't think he will be made to regret starting the party early.

Manchester City defender Micah Richards:, external "Thanks for everything, City fans! I love you and always will. You made me what I am today. Four trophies from a struggling Premier League side!"

Is that a farewell from Micah? He only made two Premier League appearances all season.

There were reports earlier today that Norwich striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel had headed straight to the airport after learning he was to be left out of today's game against Arsenal.

Our man on the scene knows better though. Van Wolfswinkel was in the stands, watching the game with his family.

    Robbie Savage

Robbie Savage's latest tactics column looks at how Manchester City won the league, highlighting the unsung heroes Martin Demichelis and Edin Dzeko.

He also says: "Are City worthy winners? Yes. Liverpool have been outstanding but their players over-achieved. City are definitely the best team, with the strongest squad. They have played some brilliant football too."

  11. Keep dreaming Steviepublished at 18:38 British Summer Time 11 May 2014

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard: "I thought my days of title races had gone but having played with this group of players this year the dream is back. Although I've only got a couple of years left I still believe I can get there. I never give up fighting.

    Gerrard

"I'm really confident and believe that the title is not too far away. I'm devastated for the fans. Although we've made them dream I'm devastated we didn't go that one step more."

What's next for Manchester City then? Well, first of all they're going to celebrate long into the night. However, some of the squad will then fly out to Abu Dhabi for the club's post-season friendly with UAE side Al Ain on Thursday. No rest for the wicked.

Steve, Surbiton: Clubs had to start competing with United financially when 10 years ago they were buying up players for fun like Rio, Rooney, Veron at £30m apiece and that was 10 years ago. It's a level playing field NOW financially.

A touch of class from both sets of fans at the iPro Stadium.

A chant of 'stand up for the 56' starts, in honour of those who died in the Valley Parade fire 29 years ago, and within a couple of minutes fans on all sides are on their feet and applauding the sentiment.

On the pitch, Derby's Jamie Ward sees a shot well saved by Tomasz Kuszczak.

That is surely the ball game in the bag for Derby as Jamie Ward nods the ball back across the six-yard box and Chris Martin barges his way between two Brighton defenders to slide and stab past Tomasz Kuszczak.

"Liverpool's season has been very good but they went out of the two domestic cup competitions relatively early. They weren't even in the Europa League. For the last three months of the season they hardly played any midweek games. They had all week to prepare for the opposition at the weekend. It will be very different next season with the Champions League.

"It will be difficult next year, because Chelsea will strengthen and go and buy a world-class striker, for example. And Manchester City will go out and spend their money. At the top of the league you have to go out and spend and improve your team, and they will all do that."

Former Leicester City midfielder Robbie Savage on 606

"If Real Madrid come in with a £70m bid this summer, it will be hard for Luis Suarez to turn it down. Could you imagine Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Angel Di Maria, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez in the same team?

"Liverpool know they have to buy a few players in preparation for next season's Champions League. They have conceded far too many goals and that is why the lost the title."

"The season turned on that Chelsea result at Liverpool. Before that game, had Liverpool won their last three games they would have won the league. Yes, after that Jordan Henderson was suspended, but clubs have squads and that's when managers have to manage their players. That Chelsea game was definitely key - without Gerrard's slip I just didn't see Chelsea scoring in the game at all."

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany: "It's a great achievement. It will be recognised. We're building a big club and I'm proud to be part of this.

"We did everything right this season. We've had a busy schedule and we've come through. As the fans say, we fight to the end."
