Lee Riach on Facebook:, external Most of that line-up tonight should NOT start in world cup especially Milner.

Matt DeGirolamo Hardy:, external This could end up being one of the worst sides of all time.

Sartaj Nafis:, external Valencia's reaction was completely unjustifiable. He was the captain and still loses his cool and attacked Sterling. Not to forget Sterling's tackle was dangerous too.. Both worthy of red cards.

While some England fans might be inclined to overreact at the result against fellow World Cup qualifiers Ecuador - here's another scoreline to mull over before venting your anger over social media. Italy's final World Cup warm-up match before meeting England in Manaus ends in a surprise draw against... .minnows Luxembourg.

The Azzurri took the lead in the first half thanks to Claudio Marchisio's header before former Sheffield United defender Maxime Chanot nodded in an equaliser five minutes from time for a team ranked 112th in the world.

Steve Huish from Surbiton on text: England will be taken apart by the likes of Spain and Argentina. Argentina and Spain final with Aguero to score the winner in injury time to win the World Cup for me.

Andy: Barkley, Chamberlain and Lambert have all done their chances of being in the starting XI when the first World Cup team is announced the world of good with their performances tonight. But knowing England we'll probably leave them on the bench in favour of the bigger names who are out of form.

Although, Hodgson might be sweating over Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's fitness following his second-half tangle with Carlos Gruezo. Watching the super slow-mo replay is a wince-inducing experience. The England midfielder overextends his knee as he tumbles over Gruezo's body. Anxious wait for both player and coach.

So then, what did you think about that? General consensus is that young midfielders Oxlade-Chamberlain and Barkley will have given Hodgson plenty of food for thought, while Lambert did his hopes no harm at all with a goalscoring display.

Step into Roy Hodgson's shoes for a moment - would you throw any of those three into your starting XI against Italy on 14 June?

Ross Parker:, external Promising displays by the Ox, Lambert & Barkley. Some potential headaches for Roy Hodgson.

Ian Clayton:, external Barkley and Chamberlain looking unstoppable tonight. They've got to start against Italy!

Rich Shimmo:, external Barkley and Lambert both seem to be staking claims to be included in the starting 11 when the World Cup kicks off.

"Roy Hodgson is likely to say 'it was an experimental side, he was pleased with a few things and unhappy with a few things and we move on to the next game'. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere didn't look too badly injured so it looks as though we have come through unscathed.

"One or two players did okay. We have shown when England give the ball away, it is not good enough, we are not organised enough. You have to be ready to defend. I am not sure enough of the England players are aware of that."

  8. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:50 British Summer Time 4 June 2014

A flurry of late corners for Ecuador - can they nick a late winner? No. All over in Miami. Roy Hodgson looks poker-faced as he claps his players off the Miami pitch.

  9. INJURY TIMEpublished at 21:48 British Summer Time 4 June 2014

Ecuador goalscorer Michael Arroyo, following his blockbuster equaliser, fancies his chances from distance again. This time Ben Foster has time to boil the kettle before seeing it spin woefully wide. Into injury time...

Uh oh. Jack Wilshere goes down in his standard injury scare. The England midfielder gets clumped on his shin, but less worryingly appears to be attacked by a bout of cramp. Thankfully he quickly gets back on his feet before being replaced by Adam Lallana for the closing moments. No drama.

Adil;, external Just make sure this defence doesn't play against Italy or Uruguay, otherwise we're in major trouble.

Firas:, external England's defence is so poor and until we sort that out, we won't be able to win a World Cup. Our attacking talent is top class however.

Charlie Cadywould:, external Milner having a shocker. England lots of talent competing for a couple of positions, lacking squad depth in defence.

"I think Rickie Lambert has done as well as he possibly could. He held the ball up, tried to bring people into the game. For a young player, Ross Barkley tried things, some came off, some didn't."

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:42 British Summer Time 4 June 2014

Hearty round of applause for Ecuador goalscorer Enner Valencia, who has been a constant threat to the makeshift England defence, as he is given a breather. England makes a double change of their own, Rickie Lambert and Ross Barkley - who combined for England's second - shake hands with replacements Danny Welbeck and Jordan Henderson. Five minutes of normal time to go.

"Eventful cameo from Raheem Sterling. Looked promising then a wild challenge that led to Antonio Valencia's over-reaction. No impact on the World Cup but not great either."

thomasgoodchild:, external Two feet. Studs up. Over the ball. Can't have many complaints.

Josh Land:, external Sure Valencia just winked at the bench!!!

Jamie Freeman:, external Disgusting behaviour by Valencia, putting his hands to the throat of a 19 year old. Never a red card for Sterling either.

"It was a rash challenge by Sterling. He dived in, didn't get the ball. The ref could possibly have booked him. Then Valencia pushes him in the head, went to grab his throat but changed his mind. A red card for both is unnecessary. A yellow would have done both of them."

  17. RED CARDSpublished at 21:37 British Summer Time 4 June 2014

The heat clearly gets to the referee - who, to the shock of most inside the Sun Life Stadium - shows red cards to both England substitute Raheem Sterling and Ecuador midfielder Antonio Valencia.

The pair clash as Sterling wildly slides into the Manchester United winger, who reacts angrily by shoving the Liverpool player. Neither player will miss their respective team's World Cup opener though. Relief for Roy Hodgson and his Ecuador counterpart Reinaldo Rueda.

  18. Final 15published at 21:35 British Summer Time 4 June 2014

Into the final quarter of an hour in Miami. Can England nick a winner? Not on this evidence. Ecuador are continuing to look the likeliest to score, enjoying plenty of possession and looking dangerous on the break.

"I don't understand why John Stones and Jon Flanagan are on the bench. I am all for giving young players experience but surely there are players who could do with the minutes who are actually going to the World Cup."
