"It is fantastic news that the pinnacle event in world football will continue to be available free of charge for everyone in the UK."

Chris Harvey, external: It's time everyone accepted that Wayne Rooney is England's best player and will be starting next week.

Ben Moore, external: A couple of bad performances don't make Wayne Rooney a bad player, He's still one of the few with proven class at this level.

Former England captain David Beckham, who watched the goalless draw with Honduras, says he is confident the Three Lions will advance from their group at the World Cup.

"It's a young team and it is fresh. The players are all in great form and all of them have had good seasons for their clubs. They are all playing in the best league in the world and the toughest league in the world. Young kids are nerve free. Of course they can advance."

Alex, external: Half of the team looked like they didn't want to be there, lack of passion and discipline. Hope we improve come Italy.

Andy Symmons, external: Lack of commitment more worrying, but yes, we didn't move the ball quick enough with enough quality. Lack of movement.

  8. Manager reactionpublished at 00:42 British Summer Time 8 June 2014

England manager Roy Hodgson on ITV: "It's time for the real thing now. Everyone is fit, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is making progress and I think he will make the tournament. Honduras were quite physical and it was one of the most frustrating games I have been involved in for a long time.

"I thought the tempo of our play and effort to score in the second half was commendable. I will take the draw and take the fact we got away without any injuries. We go to Brazil in the right frame of mind."

Jamie Phillips, external: Too many players are afraid to take a risk. Very easy to defend against when there is little movement off the ball.

bradley smith, external: Trying to play fancy football when they can't do it.

Chris Lowndes, external: Definitely a spark in England's play, especially getting the ball into a scoring position.

More from England captain Steven Gerrard: "I don't understand the referee when the ball is being kicked into a player's chest. That should have been a straight red card and with 10 men it could have been different."

Paddy Emmerson, external: I don't think Jack Wilshire has done enough to earn a start. Nor has Ross Barkley - one or two nice touches and runs but that's about it.

Patrick Cusworth, external: Daniel Sturridge. Three chances, no goals. Not good enough.

Christopher Jones, external: Take Danny Welbeck out of the starting XI and England will have a decent chance against Italy.

England captain Steven Gerrard on ITV: "I had a tight groin in midweek so it was always the plan for me to play just 45 minutes. We're quite frustrated in the dressing room. We thought the referee was poor, they were doing some stupid fouls.

"Maybe we could have moved the ball a bit quicker, but there were some horrific challenges. I certainly got caught by one."

Glen Johnson was better than against Peru, but it looked like he lacked confidence. His touch wasn't there and there were moments of hesitation. He needs to forget these games and hopefully now that we are in proper competition, it will focus him.

England haven't been able to finish Honduras off. They haven't created too many glorious opportunities and that is the main criticism. They have struggled against the 10 men. They tried to go through the middle but it was too congested.

When they went out wide, they didn't put too many crosses in either. It is a slight disappointment England did not win the game and Joe Hart was completely untroubled. Now it is down to the real business, the World Cup proper.

England are running out of ideas in and around the penalty area. Honduras will be looking for a 0-0 and that is a fantastic result for them. The players are trying to create something but it is just too congested in there.
