Two minute of normal time remaining. I doubt there will be much added time. This has been scrappy and there have been moments when it has threatened to boil over. England have had their chances but they will have to finish better against the likes of Italy and Uruguay.

Ali in London via text: I think it's time for Wayne Rooney to do a Paul Scholes and wrap up his England career. Not because he's past it but because England's only world class player isn't appreciated by the fans. The guy is about to become the highest goal scorer for his country ever while playing with a bunch of mediocre players around him and England fans want him dropped.

  3. England 0-0 Honduraspublished at 00:10 British Summer Time 8 June 2014

Another break in play. This time Víctor Bernardez collides with a team-mate and requires treatment. That allows England to make another change. It's cap number 105 for Frank Lampard, with Jordan Henderson the player making way.

  4. FINAL 10 MINUTESpublished at 00:06 British Summer Time 8 June 2014

Rickie Lambert is on for Danny Welbeck as England surge forward in search of a late winner against their 10-man opponents.

Jake Hulme, external: Love this England team. Movement, possession, threat up front - want Ross Barkley and the Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, no Wayne Rooney.

FC META, external: Ross Barkley has done more than Wayne Rooney did in the first 45 minutes. Maybe he should start...

When England have had chances, they haven't tested the goalkeeper, that is the only criticism I have. Danny Sturridge was eight yards from goal with a free header and was almost too casual. We just need that one moment of magic to open them up.

Keeper Joe Hart makes way for Fraser Forster for the final 15 minutes as Roy looks to give all his squad a taste of action before the serious stuff starts next week.

Oh, Daniel! A move made in Liverpool sees Glen Johnson whip in an inviting cross to unmarked Anfield team-mate Sturridge but the striker heads well over the bar. He kicks the post in frustration.

Players are picking the ball up and making things happen. Danny Welbeck got the ball and drove forward. This is positive and what we want to see, players making something happen in the final third. The tempo of the game is more like a Premier League game, it is a little bit feisty and we are seeing the younger players in action.

Jamie in Wakefield: Ross Barkley has to start for me. He's been the most exciting player in these warm ups. I think the Italians would fear him more than Wayne Rooney.

Nafizzle from Heckmondwike: Ross Barkley and Jordan Henderson have to start. Both been excellent.

  11. England 0-0 Honduraspublished at 23:56 British Summer Time 7 June 2014

England have 20 minutes to find a goal otherwise they are heading into the World Cup on the back of two games without a win. This has descended into an awfully scrappy affair and certainly won't live long in the memory of the fans inside the ground - except the weather and delay. Gary Cahill becomes the latest player to be booked, while Carlo Costly has been replaced by Edder Delgado.

Christopher Worrall, external: At this rate the game will be abandoned due to a lack of Honduras players left on the field.

Dan Zuco O'Brien, external: Wouldn't surprise me if Honduras finished this game with eight men.

Brayan Beckeles led with his forearm and caught Leighton Baines. That is a Godsend for England at the moment, now with a man sent off they can make it tell. They can keep the ball and make Honduras run around.

  14. RED CARDpublished at 23:52 British Summer Time 7 June 2014

Honduras will play the final 25 minutes with 10 men after Brayan Beckeles is sent off for a second bookable offence after clattering Leighton Baines. Who saw that coming? Yep, so did I.

I still think Ross Barkley will be most effective from the bench at this stage of his career for England.

England manager Roy Hodgson has just has a long conversation with Ross Barkley during a break in play. Once again Everton's outstanding youngster has shown drive and skill to show he could make a real impact at the World Cup.

Into the final half an hour. Honduras make a change - off goes Marvin Chavez and on comes Anderlecht's Andy Najar.

Jordan Henderson, Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, Ross Barkley and Daniel Sturridge are all on. Could this be England's team for the Euros in 2016?

  19. England 0-0 Honduraspublished at 23:43 British Summer Time 7 June 2014

England, to their credit, are not letting the catalogue of Honduras fouls get to them. The Three Lions have the momentum and another surge forward results in Daniel Sturridge firing wide from the edge of the area after more good work by Ross Barkley. The Everton youngster has been terrific in the short space of time he has been on the pitch.

Jack William Redfern, external: Ross Barkley has done more in five minutes than Wayne Rooney did in 45. Please start him Roy.
