Edward Herbert:, external It's important that Costa Rica do not concede early. They need to frustrate the Netherlands. Don't let them play their game.

Costa Rica players sing national anthem

Two fine anthems, passion and projection in evidence from both sides. Bryan Ruiz or Robin van Persie? Who will be smiling in two hours' time?

Should English players 'dive' more frequently? Or does it drive you up the wall?

Matt: This debate is ridiculous, English players have been diving for years and years, its a complete myth that our players are "more honest".

Rob K, Exeter: This country isn't the only one that doesn't like diving. Don't forget English players have and do dive. It's deplorable whomever does it and FA's everywhere should act.

"I've seen the Dutch players out in the bars and restaurants and they have look relaxed. The manager has given them that freedom, with a curfew of course, but it's worked for them."

"Netherlands were absolutely useless at the Euros in 2012. Louis van Gaal has done a great job. Nobody would have predicted that demolition of Spain.

"Costa Rica will sit back and play on the counter attack. They will leave Joel Campbell up high, pack the midfield, and when they do break it is up to Netherlands to raise the tempo quickly. We've already seen Arjen Robben score two goals on the break at this World Cup.

"Costa Rica would snap your hand off for penalties."

Costa Rica midfielder Celso Borges: "We've had so much training, physically, mentally and tactically, that in the end it becomes automatic.

"We are a group of players who are totally committed to the collective. We have been working together for two and a half years and have been playing as basically the same group, which makes a difference."

We are 10 minutes away from kick-off. Salvador has been the city of goals in the tournament so far - will we have more of the same?

"Robben is one of the most difficult players to play against, he wants to run against you and hurt you. He reacts to what you do, so he feeds off your movement. You cannot let him turn, so you need get close to him and don't let him turn. He wants a defender to make a lunge and then he will react."

"Arjen Robben has actually gained a yard of pace since leaving the Premier League. When he's running at you it's pretty scary.

"His diving will cost him in a game because he'll be fouled, go down and not get a penalty."

    Alan Hansen

"It's not just the pace and trickery but when Arjen Robben's running at you with the ball it's always tight to his feet and he never gives you that chance to nick it away.

"If he's in trouble he goes down but if you're a defender and you put your leg out you're asking for trouble. When he's got a chance to score he's not going down."

The Arjen Robben debate rages on. Is he a diver? A cheat?

A fantastic, game-changing player? Undoubtedly on that one. Fantastic forward.

"I've been impressed by the Dutch whether they're played five, three or four at the back.

"They've changed systems to counter whoever they are playing.

"Louis van Gaal has made some big decisions - when they were chasing a goal against Mexico, he brought off Robin van Persie for Klaas Jan Huntelaar and it worked."

    Alan Hansen

"On paper it looks a shoo-in for the Netherlands. Against the Greeks Costa Rica struggled for long periods. The way they played against the Italians pushing up with a high line, the pace and ability of the Netherlands front three should be too much for them.

"Louis van Gaal is single-minded, not afraid to make decisions and the big decisions have come off for him.

"The only problem would be complacency, That's the enemy of success but the manager will be saying the right things in the dressing room because that's ultra-important."

    What do you think?

Former Netherlands midfielder Edgar Davids: "I'm not a fan of diving but it is what it is. I have had words with players in my teams who have done that, but on the other hand if it gets you the winner... it's a double-edged sword.

"Arjen Robben is so strong right now that he can decide if he wants to fall down or not. In the Chile game two guys were just hanging off his stiff arm.

"It's hard to stop Arjen when he is going at full speed - you know you have to foul him. Robben has shown strength, contributed assists, scored goals, he is the most important guy for the Dutch team. He is the best player by far in this tournament."

"Show me a fair team that has won a trophy. When you play abroad it is part and parcel. The referees buy it in France, Spain or Germany. You get touched, you go down, you get a free kick, and in the World Cup too.

"It means you're streetwise and you know how to win a football match. We are too honest in this country. Until we learn the rules, we will struggle to win at this stage."
