"A good well-worked free-kick from Netherlands , but I don't think they are moving the ball quick enough in open play to create chances.

"The Costa Rica front three of Christian Bolanos, Joel Campbell and Bryan Ruiz all have real ability and can create problems. Costa Rica are dangerous. When they do get into the final third they have to try and retain possession and work the ball into the box because those players are also good in the air."

"When you are playing the likes of Arjen Robben, if you know the yellow card is going to be wiped out after this round and you can take a free one, why not?"

  4. CLOSE!published at 22:11 British Summer Time 5 July 2014

Different. The Dutch go for the Sheringham/Anderton free-kick as Arjen Robben pulls it to Wesley Sneijder on the edge of the box, it's clever but Sneijder can't control the shot and fires well over the top.

Arjen Robben is sent flying by a Costa Rican sandwich and Michael Umana sees yellow for it. Free-kick in a good spot out wide.

    Can they deliver?

"I said before the Uruguay v Costa Rica match I was interested to see how Keylor Navas would do on the world stage. Answer=VERY WELL!!"

It's 77% Dutch football in the second half. But it's also 100% perspiration, 0% inspiration.

    We need a goal. Please.

"From what we saw in the first half Netherlands look the more likely to find a winner. Robin van Persie cutting inside has a shot on him as we know, Wesley Sneijder forced that save from Keylor Navas, who is having a wonderful tournament.

"Costa Rica's best chance of scoring is on the break."

    Former England captain Rio Ferdinand

"If someone like Huntelaar comes on, he is not going to need two chances. He puts the ball in the back in the net. But the longer the half went on, the more comfortable Costa Rica looked."

Arjen Robben sent spinning to the floor in the opening seconds of the half. He could yet hold the key to this one...

"If it's 20 minutes to go and still 0-0 it will be exciting but if the Dutch move it quicker, they'll get further opportunities and it's difficult to envisage Costa Rica having the same energy in the second half as they have in the first."

If Louis van Gaal wanted to make a change at the break he has the likes of Klaas Jan Huntelaar, Jeremain Lens and Jonathan de Guzman on the bench. Hit the big man?

David J Birks:, external Impressed with Costa Rica, very disciplined and great work rate. Would love to see this going down to the wire.

Niall Davey:, external It's a shame that Arjen Robben will be remembered for all the wrong reasons in this World Cup. His performances have been top class.

Craig Woodward:, external Great discipline from Costa Rica. Just think they'll get tired towards the end and Netherlands will pinch it.

    Keylor Navas

"Navas is a really good goalkeeper and has had a terrific first half. He's a great shot stopper, can read it off the line and he's quick with his feet.

"Costa Rica are disciplined but their energy levels are unbelievable. The number of white shirts getting back is unbelievable. They've eliminated Wesley Sneijder to a certain extent through the middle and they've left it with Dirk Kuyt who will go square or back and that gives the defence time to settle."

"It's all Netherlands, we expected them to dominate possession and they have. Costa Rica are just waiting for a Dutch mistake when they can counter, or a set piece when they can get the ball into the box.

"I think we might need a pillow and a hot water bottle for this one."

Wesley Sneijder's free-kick - which was well saved by Keylor Navas, naturally - is now available to watch in the highlights tab.

Navas was nursing a shoulder injury before this game and it's a long standing problem. He has tendinitis in the joint and a dose of acromioclavicular arthritis.

Imagine how good he would be if fully fit...

"The Dutch are on top, they have created more clear cut openings and have forced Keylor Navas into making several good saves.

"Costa Rica have pace going forward and have got in behind the Dutch defence to create one or two openings. They're just not able to pick out that pass in the final third."
