Ben Franklin:, external That cross by Bale for the goal might be the greatest pass I've ever seen.

UnSimple Simon:, external Bale & Ronaldo. Did they really need to add anyone to the team? Waste of £65m on James Rodriguez.

I'm not sure how you can defend against Real Madrid when they are in that mood. Sevilla lost the ball 70 yards from their own goal and a quick one-two between the world's two most expensive players later and they are a goal down.

What a cross! That is absolutely sensational stuff from Gareth Bale. He collects Cristiano Ronaldo's crossfield pass just over the halfway line, gallops forwards and then swings the ball over, from a good 45 yards out, and it is inch perfect to find Ronaldo at the back post.

He converts, but it was all about the pass. On the money.

Good news for Dave Hockaday as his Leeds side have taken the lead against Accrington Stanley. Souleymane Doukara, on loan at Leeds from Italian side Catania, opens his account for the club with a finish on the turn.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:13 British Summer Time 12 August 2014

Brilliant. It's brilliant play from Real Madrid as Toni Kroos switches play with a perfect 45-yard pass out wide, Karim Benzema recycles it inside, Cristiano Ronaldo's first touch takes him away from his marker and when the whole ground waits for the net to bulge, Sevilla keeper Beto makes a brave one-handed save.

BBC Wales football correspondent Rob Phillips at Cardiff City Stadium: "No doubt the Sevilla fans are setting the tone with the singing inside the Cardiff City Stadium.

BBC Sport's Chris Osborne at Stadium MK: "Do you remember that goal Gianfranco Zola scored against Norwich City? That near-post flick of wonder?

"Well Kyle McFadzean has just done the same thing for MK Dons - but in a more League One kind of way. It's taken the bite out of the AFC Wimbledon fans' chants, who must just be sick and tired of the letters M and K."

Diego Costa has made a superb start on his Chelsea home debut with two goals inside the first eight minutes of the pre-season friendly against Real Sociedad at a wet Stamford Bridge.

The Spain international, who cost the Blues £32m from Atletico Madrid, slid home the first from Ramires' pass in the opening minute, before tapping in when Andre Schurrle's shot came off the post.

It's not looking promising for Fernando Torres...
