United have to finish in the top four, don't they? With the money they have spent and the players they have acquired, surely they must take a top-four spot?

"Eduardo Vargas has been lively since he has come on, he has been a threat.
"But there is a good feeling coming through at Old Trafford again. A lot of people were happy Man Utd finished seventh last year, but now with this team, I don't think they will win the league but can they get the club back into the Champions League?"
BBC Sport's Simon Stone at Old Trafford: "Juan Mata looked a bit subdued when his number went up as the man to be replaced by Radamel Falcao even if he had a smile on his face by the time he got to the touchline to exchange high fives with the Colombian.
"Mata could not have done much more today but his task in keeping his place is not an enviable one.
"As expected, Wayne Rooney has dropped back, with Falcao taking his place alongside Robin van Persie."
A sign of the still soft underbelly of this Manchester United side as QPR are able to slice through with ease, substitute Eduardo Vargas gets the better of Marcos Rojo and Tyler Blackett to walk in on goal, but he drags his effort wide.
Into the final 15 minutes then. Radamel Falcao has had a few nice touches but he's not looked a threat yet.
Manchester United fans are trying to get Rio Ferdinand to give them a wave as Sandro goes down with an injury. He wisely ignores them and QPR replace the stricken Brazilian with Karl Henry. Rio may well take being subbed now...

The 606 lines are open. You might want to talk about Manchester United's assault on the top four. Wrighty believes they will at the expense of Liverpool.
Wrighty was also impressed by Danny Welbeck yesterday and believes that, for Arsenal, he can get in the right positions and score goals. Do you agree?
And is Mario Balotelli's ability to play his game affected by his reputation? Does he need more protection from referees? Wrighty believes so.

Lewis Bates:, external Daley Blind has controlled this match. Angel Di Maria has been class, but Blind has broken everything up. Just what we've needed.
Craig Fraser:, external Di Maria, Falcao, RVP and Rooney vs an abysmal QPR defence already 4-0 down. Time to prove a point to the rest of the league?
Kuntal Majumdar:, external Can't wait for the likes of Chelsea, City and Liverpool to deflate this Man U balloon soon. This is setting up so nicely...
Shohan Sen, Kent: People may be a little too hasty to say the old United has returned. QPR won't be the real test, it will be their main rivals. With all these new signings are their competitors the title-chasers, Champions League-chasers or Europa League-chasers? Only time will tell but I feel their upcoming Everton match will he a good indicator!
QPR are not big believers in tackling at the moment, preferring to stand off and watch the red tide wash over their shores. Robin van Persie is allowed to make his way to the deadball line and his chipped cross hits the angle of post and bar. The Dutchman then shoots over on the spin - he probably needs a goal to stay in the team at the moment.
Wayne Rooney has taken Juan Mata's space in behind the front two, and almost has a fifth as he ghosts into space but can't quite control the ball. If you could request a scenario to make your debut as a striker, than 4-0 up at home to QPR would be high on the list.

"That is an insight into what will happen when Louis van Gaal gets his favoured selection on the pitch. Just look at that, Falcao, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie. What a forward line that is. And Angel Di Maria. Wow. That is the fear factor right there.
"I have never seen such a transformation at one club from one game to the next. The atmosphere in this team is completely different to Burnley away."
Double change as Antonio Valencia and Radamel Falcao replace Juan Mata and Rafael. Huge ovation for Falcao.
Top class stuff from Angel Di Maria, lifting a ball over the packed defence with the outside of his boot but Robin van Persie's shot is right at Rob Green.
Radamel Falcao is imminent.
Josh: Is Rio Ferdinand sure he doesn't still play for Man Utd?
Ash Day:, external QPR's defending is tragic. No wonder United weren't fussed letting Ferdinand go, he's so past it now, has been for years.
Chaim Ford:, external As a Spurs fan, I want to warn Man U fans that QPR have the ability to make your team look much better than they actually are...
David:, external The stars will take the headlines but it's been Ander Herrera and Daley Blind in midfield that's made the difference for me.
Is the fear factor back at Old Trafford? Not yet, but it could well return. United host Everton and Chelsea next month - let's see after that.

"Absolutely woeful defending from QPR. Angel Di Maria had a shot from 30 yards, scuffed, and Mata is unmarked in the box. He controls it and just lifts it over Robert Green. Terrible defending. You are 3-0 down away from home, and the back four is all over the place. I don't know where Rio Ferdinand went. You sense now there is a fear factor about playing here."
There is a change in the wake of the fourth goal, but it's not Radamel Falcao just yet. QPR throw on Eduardo Vargas for Charlie Austin.
