Both sides make a change, play-off legend Bobby Zamora on to sniff an equaliser out, while Stoke stiffen up midfield with Steve Sidwell in the mixer.

Swansea boss Garry Monk has used the fewest players of any Premier League manager so far this season with 16, but he is going to increase that tally today. He makes two changes from the team that lost 4-2 at Chelsea - their first league defeat of the campaign. One is enforced with new signing Federico Fernandez in for his debut in defence in place of the injured Jordi Amat.

Last season's top-scorer Wilfried Bony is brought into the starting XI after being on the bench last week following a late return from international duty. Bafetimbi Gomis makes way.

Southampton make two changes from the team that beat Newcastle 4-0 last weekend. James Ward-Prowse and Maya Yoshida come in for Steven Davis and Toby Alderweireld respectively. Shane Long has overcome a head injury and starts.

Swansea XI: Fabianski, Rangel, Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Ki, Shelvey, Sigurdsson, Dyer, Routledge, Bony.

Southampton XI: Forster, Clyne, Yoshida, Fonte, Bertrand, Schneiderlin, Cork, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Long, Pelle.

It opens up for Matty Phillips but his 20 yarder is well, well wide. QPR just look a bit short of ideas. They haven't got box of tricks Adel Taarabt on the bench today either.

"Peter Crouch is leading the line well. He has been knocking the ball off, holding it up, getting in front of Rio Ferdinand and Steven Caulker, showing himself for passes from midfield and setting up Stoke attacks. His experience is doing Stoke a good turn today.

"The first signs of displeasure from QPR fans. They have had a couple of shots this half but Stoke are still looking the more dangerous."

Armand Traore adds some much-needed width to the QPR attack but he's tracked all the way back by Mame Diouf who sees it out of play. Famous last words coming up - but Stoke look comfortable right now.

"Is Aston Villa's management team of Paul Lambert and Roy Keane good cop bad cop, or is it just two bad cops? If Keane gives you a dressing down, you've got to just take it haven't you?

"Randy Lerner, the owner who wants to sell, still has a club where he can look and think it's a side that can kick on."

Paul Lambert on the appointment of his Aston Villa assistant Roy Keane:

"The two of us are really strong characters. I knew he had a lot of football knowledge that was unfairly tarnished. His knowledge meant he was too good to be a TV pundit. To get him back in the game was great. I love working with him, we have a laugh.

"Not everything is serious. I beat him at the crossbar challenge nearly every day. When I was thinking about people to bring in, I know it probably raised a few eyebrows, 'How's that going to work?' Nobody sees the logic in it. I just knew in my gut it would work. Alright, there will be times when we don't win games but we'll never break anything.

"He's been great around the place, with the staff and the lads. He likes a laugh as well. I don't think he's the big bad guy out there. He's somebody I know I can rely on. I never had any doubts. He was the first port of call when I knew I had to get somebody in."

"I have played with Roy Keane and he does not let you fall below the high standards he has, on or off the pitch. I think he has played a part in this Villa resurgence.

"Being assistant he will be able to learn without the pressure of being the number one. He had success as a manager at Sunderland, but failed a little bit at Ipswich. He will now be able to reinvent himself as a coach and by all accounts he is doing really well."

Watford are level with around 10 minutes left - substitute Craig Cathcart is the man, rattling home a volley from 12 yards out. Tidy finish from the defender.

"Once again absolutely dreadful defending by QPR. Charlie Adam is not the quickest but he managed to get inside of the full-back and play it back and it looked as though Steven N'Zoni would just sweetly sidefoot it home. It was sweet enough but went just wide. QPR once again get out of jail."

On this evidence it's hard to believe that QPR full-back Mauricio Isla was playing for Juventus last season. He's having a torrid afternoon, miscuing a clearance to give Erik Pieters a chance which he fluffs. Moments later Charlie Adam gets clear down Isla's flank and finds Steven N'Zonzi, and he fires wide.

Stoke should be home and hosed.

"Peter Crouch just leant back and drifted it beautifully past Robert Green after good play on the left side. Once again Stoke score an early goal and ask the questions of QPR.

"The home crowd will be on their back to get back in this game quickly. But they have to watch Stoke on the counter - the more space they leave the more dangerous the visitors will become."

Dave in Portsmouth: So fickle and small-minded, these Newcastle fans. I expect they'd rather have Keegan or Gazza as the manager.

Ali from Edinburgh: Moyes, Pulis and Bruce look like sound contenders for the Newcastle job should Pardew leave, but I feel Neil Lennon could also be a good fit. Tries to play at a good tempo and understands all too well the pressures that come with the management of a big club.

Victor Moses has been far too good for QPR so far this afternoon as he creates a second goal. He gets away from Mauricio Isla again all too easily down the left and has the vision to pick out Peter Crouch on the penalty spot. Crouch swings a long, long left leg at the ball - and cracks it into the back of the net. Rob Green didn't smell it.
