Some goals elsewhere to tell you about. In Group B, Torino are drawing 1-1 away to already-eliminated FC Copenhagen. As it stands, a draw will be enough for the Italian side as group leaders Club Brugge are 1-0 up on third-placed HJK Helsinki thanks to a Felipe Gedoz penalty. But there'll be a few more twists to come in that group, I fancy.

In Group D, Celtic are already through in second place, and Kris Commons has cancelled out Marko Pjaca's goal for Dinamo Zagreb to make it 1-1 in Croatia. Group winners Salzburg lead eliminated Astra Giurgiu 1-0 through a Marcel Sabitzer goal.

But Kyle Walker, back after a nine-month absence with an abdominal injury, isn't the only one struggling to find their rhythm. All very bitty, as you can understand, since the restart.

Sloppy play from Spurs right-back Kyle Walker gifts possession to Besiktas. The hosts mount an attack down the left but it breaks down when forward Cenk Tosun strays offside. We'll forgive Kyle Walker for being a little rusty...

What are your memories of teenage stars bursting on to the football scene?

From Jon in London: I went to the old Wembley on a school trip to watch England Under-16s. A rapid young striker scored and the announcer said "watch out for this name in the future"... sure I've heard Michael Owen mentioned a few times since!

Tottenham carry on where they left off before that enforced break - on the attack. The away side win another corner, Vlad Chiriches meeting Paulinho's delivery at the near post with a headed flick, but team-mate Benjamin Stambouli is unable to turn in.

  7. PLAY BACK UNDER WAYpublished at 18:26 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2014

Swedish referee Stefan Johanneson gives the signal to restart after a 16-minute delay - after he holds up play for another couple of minutes. He's probably waiting for the nod from his Uefa delegate.

That eventually arrives and Besiktas restart the match with an attacking throw-in.

  8. PLAYERS RETURNING TO THE PITCHpublished at 18:23 Greenwich Mean Time 11 December 2014

Jeers ring out around the Olympic Stadium as Spurs follow their hosts back on to the pitch. Another quick warm-up for each side and then we are good to go...

But that's no consolation to Spurs and their merry band of travelling fans. Mauricio Pochettino had seen his side make an encouraging start, picking a few holes in the home defence. Now they are back in the dressing room, going through their pre-match superstitions before they must start again.

Fantastic scenes inside the Olympic Stadium as the Besiktas fans all whip out their mobile phones within seconds of the blackout. They stick on their flashlight apps and wave their handsets in the cold Istanbul air in unison. That's the exact definition of creating your own entertainment.

I've got no idea how long this enforced break will be. I suspect some maintenance man is scrambling about in the depths of the stadium trying to sort it out.

Someone find the fuse box. Quick. The lights have gone out inside Istanbul's Olympic Stadium, prompting referee Stefan Johannesson to call the players back to the dressing room.

Andros Townsend's shot is blocked by a wall of white home shirts, but then a swift ball left picks out Nacer Chadli. The Belgian whips in a devilish ball from a wide position but Roberto Soldado cannot stretch to stick his head on it. If only he was another four inches taller.

Spurs chalk up the first mark on the corners board. Paulinho's set-piece from the right is unconvincingly punched clear by home keeper Tolga Zengin. And it only goes as far as Andros Townsend on the edge of the area...

Spurs fans will be pleased to see Kyle Walker back in action after a long spell on the sidelines. And it doesn't take the England full-back to get back into the thick of the action. He dribbles towards the Besiktas half and then is dumped to the ground to win a free-kick.

A hefty challenge beats those long, lonely hours in the treatment room eh? Welcome back Kyle.

Tottenham, decked out in all yellow, enjoy the lion's share of possession in the opening exchanges. Spurs defender Vlad Chiriches almost gifts a chance to the home side after trying some ill-advised fancy footwork on the edge of his own area. Luckily his pocket isn't picked and Spurs get away with it.
