If this scoreline remains the same, Lawro will have correctly predicted nine results this weekend. And it would have been a full house but for Ross Wallace's 90th-minute equaliser for Burnley against Leicester. Check out his predictions here.

Alex Smith:, external Feel sorry for Charlie Austin, literally given no support and just long balls. Would hate to be a striker in the QPR team.

Sam Wilson:, external Austin is crying out for some support up top, need to get Junior Hoilett on the ball more.

Half-time television replays appear to show that West Ham's Enner Valencia handled the ball as it came over for Nedum Onouha's own goal. It was only a slight handball, but Rangers fans will likely be aggrieved.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman: "It was difficult. We knew before the game that they are strong. The game was in the balance.

"They had good moments but in the second half little-by-little we had some dominance in the game. It is all about scoring goals and they did it better than us.

"Maybe that [Sadio Mane's miss] was the biggest chance of the game. It was great cross from Ryan Bertrand and he had to score but was unlucky. I am happy with performance today."

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino: "It is an important win. It was a very tough game. Southampton have unbelievable players.

"We are still improving. I arrived three months ago. It is always difficult to put together a different philosophy in such a short time. It is important to build something for the long term.

"All the players did a great job today and did their best. We deserved the three points.

"I love Southampton and the club. It was a great period. Southampton will always be special for me in my heart."

Apoorv Jain: No Sam Allardyce celebration is complete without the presence of bovril...

Mark: If Big Sam's birthday involves a 70s fancy dress; surely Glen Hoddle has to be Gene Hunt? I'd pay good money to see that.

It's a credit to West Ham that they look so dominant in this game. And a real worrying sign for Rangers. They have the ability on paper, but just don't look cohesive.

Arsenal captain Per Mertesacker: "We were more competitive than last year but overall we have to admit we were good but not good enough in certain areas, particularly the final third.

"We had a couple of decent possibilities, but we could not find the final pass or touch.

"We defended better, but they are still better and we have to learn quickly."

"QPR cannot get out. They are struggling at the moment, and they need to take some of the pressure off of their back four. West Ham are enjoying the lions's share of possession in this game and look like they could get a second goal."

  17. Manager reactionpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 5 October 2014

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "It was an even game, but at the end of the day they have financial power and used it in a effective way with players like Diego Costa and Eden Hazard making the difference.

"They did not work our keeper more than we did their's. We had more shots and missed opportunities to take more. We lost on details and this is unfortunate.

On his touchline clash with Jose Mourinho: "I went out of my technical area because I wasn't happy with the challenge and I wanted to see what happened. Someone stood in front of me and that was it. I say absolutely nothing else on that.

"Jose says we should have finished with eight men and I return that compliment. I don't know how Gary Cahill finished the game. I don't know how Branislav Ivanovic finished the game. I don't know how Oscar finished the game.

"It is a concern to be nine points behind Chelsea, with the quality of the teams ahead of us, but we will keep on fighting and go on to the next game."
