    Former Portsmouth striker Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 live at the iPro Stadium

"You can only think that the Will Hughes substitution must be because of an injury of some description. I'm not sure there was too much that needed to change after that first-half Derby performance, and Hughes played his part in that."

  6. Postpublished at 13:25 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

A scrappy first five minutes to the second half at Derby. Forest are frustrating the home side and keeping them within reach, without threatening much themselves. It'll be interesting to see how Derby cope without Will Hughes here.

The clear winner was Harry Kane, with 57% of you choosing the Tottenham striker.

Paul Moore: I was the first to say Harry Kane was not good enough, but I was completely wrong! He is class and would replace Wayne Rooney for me!

George, Wales: Quite honestly, if Roy Hodgson was picking on current form he'd have Charlie Austin and Kane up front with Rooney on the bench.

After the fanfare that surrounded his appointment as Burton boss, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has quietly gone about the business of keeping the Brewers in the hunt for League Two promotion. The Dutchman takes his second-placed side to mid-table Portsmouth today. Hasselbaink's last ever professional appearance came in the 2008 FA Cup final, when Pompey beat his Cardiff side 1-0.

Victory could see them go top of the table with leaders Wycombe travelling to David Flitcroft's Bury while third-placed Newport head to Cambridge United. The U's players could be forgiven for having one eye on next week's FA Cup fourth round tie against Manchester United.

Down at the bottom, Hartlepool face a difficult trip to fourth-placed Shrewsbury and fellow relegation zone dwellers Tranmere host Accrington.

League One's a tough enough place to manage in at the best of times but Coventry City manager Steven Pressley is now having to deal with claims on the internet that he has 'lost the dressing room'. His 18th-placed side visit struggling Gillingham today.

At the top end of the table, leaders Swindon entertain in-form Chesterfield while second-placed Bristol City face a tough looking trip to Scunthorpe.

There is plenty of other action in the Championship to come today and promotion-chasing Bournemouth will look to get their quest for a place in the Premier League back on track when they visit struggling Rotherham later.

The Cherries suffered a 2-1 home defeat by Norwich last week. The Canaries, under new manager Alex Neil for the first time, take on mid-table Cardiff at Carrow Road while East Anglian rivals Ipswich visit lowly Millwall.

Guy Luzon takes charge of Charlton for the first time as they visit Watford and Birmingham City will look to continue their excellent recent form when they visit Leeds, themselves looking for a first win in 50 days.

Elsewhere, it will be a poignant day at Molineux as Wolves remember former owner Sir Jack Hayward who passed away earlier this week at the age of 91. Kenny Jackett's sixth-placed side take on bottom club Blackpool.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:04 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

    Former Portsmouth striker Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 live at the iPro Stadium

"Is Stuart Pearce thinking of making any changes or changing his system at half-time? Forest had a really strong last five minutes before half-time, and with just a goal in it the visitors still have something to go after."

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:04 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

Britt Assombalonga has hardly been in the game for Forest so far, but with one neat turn and a smart shot that whizzes just over, he almost brings the visitors level right on half-time. As it is, Derby hold the lead at the break, courtesy of Henri Lansbury's own goal. They deserve the advantage, but can hardly afford to be complacent.

  16. 'Defoe will keep Sunderland up'published at 13:02 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

    Jermaine Jenas
    Former England midfielder

"What a signing Jermain Defoe is for Sunderland. He guarantees goals.

"He's one of the best strikers I've played with and seen in the Premier League. He is prolific. Sunderland manager Gus Poyet played with him at Spurs and was assistant manager there for a time so he knows the player well.

"He scores goals, and scoring goals will keep the club in the Premier League. The fans need something up there to get excited about and that is what Defoe will bring."

  17. Postpublished at 13:01 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

    Former Portsmouth striker Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 live at the iPro Stadium

"There's a conundrum now for Stuart Pearce, as we approach his half-time team talk. Forest are still competitive, but there's a world of difference between staying in this game and getting back into it."

  18. CLOSE!published at 13:00 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

Lovely first touch from Derby playmaker Will Hughes, as he collects a crossfield pass, kills it and whizzes a 25-yard shot just wide of Dorus de Vries' right-hand post. Forest wobbling here.

  19. 'The fans love Kane'published at 12:56 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

    Former England defender Danny Mills
    Football Focus

"Harry Kane really came to the fore in that Aston Villa game in November, when Spurs came from a goal down to win 2-1 late on. He got a bit lucky with the deflection off a free-kick to get his goal, but he grabbed the ball off Erik Lamela - he wasn't letting anybody else have it.

"He is a home lad and the fans love him. He works so hard, and since then he has gone on and taken his excellent Europa League form into the Premier League."

  20. Postpublished at 12:54 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

"Wow, that was plumb for Eric Lichaj. A sharp intake of breath all around this iPro Stadium..."
