    Football Focus

We - along with Football Focus - have been asking you who you would pick to partner Wayne Rooney up front if England were playing tomorrow (remember Daniel Sturridge and Danny Welbeck are out injured).

And we have a clear winner, with 57% of you choosing Harry Kane.

    Thanks for voting.

  2. OUCH!published at 12:53 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

A painful moment for Forest defender Eric Lichaj. As his team-mates struggle to clear a free-kick, he throws himself in the way of a Will Hughes shot, and gets caught in a very eye-wtatering place. Happened to me during a schools' football match once, Eric. I feel your pain.

"Jermain Defoe is a great signing for Sunderland. Tottenham fans love him for what he did at the club. But will he score today on his debut? He seems to do that every time! What a signing for the Black Cats. Goals, that's Defoe."

  4. 'Pochettino has Spurs on right road'published at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

Former Tottenham and England midfielder Jermaine Jenas
    Football Focus

"Tottenham are not necessarily a better team under Mauricio Pochettino, but he has turned them around and now they're on the right road. They have found a reliable back four, but when that broke down midweek against Burnley they had issues. They want to push for fourth in the league as well as go far in the Europa League."

A bit better from Forest over the last couple of minutes, with Jack Hobbs snatching at a shot that rolls wide after Derby fail to clear a set-piece. Only tiny crumbs for Stuart Pearce at the moment, though. Let's get back to Football Focus, as Jermaine Jenas and Danny Mills look ahead to the day's Premier League games...

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

Forest are staying competitive, even as they battle to stay in the game. Centre-back Kelvin Wilson throws an arm across the face of Derby striker Chris Martin as they tussle near the halfway line, and is booked. I am willing to bet that this will not be the game's final yellow card.

  7. Do Spurs have depth to cope?published at 12:43 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

    Former England defender Danny Mills
    Football Focus

"Tottenham might have to prioritise the competitions they are playing in because playing Thursdays and Sundays could become a bit of a factor. It is never easy, it throws your routine. Players are creatures of habit, they like to have a certain way of doing things. Does Mauricio Pochettino have enough strength in depth? Possibly, but within that you also have to maintain a winning formula. It is a very delicate balancing act."

  8. Postpublished at 12:43 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

    Former Portsmouth striker Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 live at the iPro Stadium

"From a neutral perspective you'd like to see Forest stay in this game and stay competitive. But if Derby get another you do wonder how much belief Stuart Pearce's men have they they could get back in this."

  9. Postpublished at 12:42 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

Forest look like a side without a win in eight matches right now. Confidence appears low, and they are carrying little threat. Derby are about as comfortable as a team with a 1-0 lead can be as the January sun shines at the iPro Stadium.

  10. 'Not good at QPR'published at 12:38 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

Former QPR and England midfielder Jermaine Jenas
    Football Focus

"It's not a good time at the minute at QPR. They had a couple of great results at home and the atmosphere was quite upbeat, but this record of not getting a single point away from home all season is bad, and the lads will know it's bad.

"And these rumours of a mole within the club, and the manager's job being on the line, do not help. The only way to make that sort of stuff go away is to win games."

A reminder where those "mole" rumours came from...

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 12:37 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

Forest keeper Dorus de Vries keeps his side in the game with an athletic tip over after Jamie Ward's long-range shot takes a flick off Derby team-mate Jake Buxton's head. De Vries collects the resulting corner, and Ward rather blots his copybook by tripping the keeper needlessly and giving away a free-kick.

  12. Postpublished at 12:34 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

    Former Portsmouth striker Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 live at the iPro Stadium

"All of a sudden Henri Lansbury loses the flight of the ball, unfortunately, and as he goes to head it he mistimes it and it's into his own net. Chris Martin's jump took Henri's eye off it and it's on to him before he can adjust himself. The ball's more hit his head than him heading it, if you see what I mean.

"And you fear now for Forest, who had started quite well and were matching Derby for tempo and effort. It's just such a shame to concede like that."

  13. GOALpublished at 12:31 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

Oh crikey. That's a nightmare moment for Henri Lansbury. Johnny Russell whips a corner into the near post, where Chris Martin's run leaves Lansbury unsighted - and the ball bounces in at the near post off the Forest midfielder's head.

A terrible start for Stuart Pearce and his side.

  14. 'Austin is exceptional'published at 12:29 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

    Former England defender Danny Mills
    Football Focus

"Charlie Austin is an undoubtedly a great finisher. He is always on the move, looking for where the ball is likely to fall in the box. He has developed that knack, and when he gets his chance, his finishing is absolutely exceptional."

  15. Postpublished at 12:28 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

    Former Portsmouth striker Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 live at the iPro Stadium

"It's been a good start to this game. Both managers will be happy - there's lots of pressure, enthusiasm and closing down, so lots of effort. That's what the supporters want to see, that players who are participating in this fixture understand its local importance."

  16. Postpublished at 12:27 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

A half-chance for Forest striker Michail Antonio, who wriggles to find a little space in the penalty area, but lashes the shot into the stand.

  17. 'Charlie Austin is special'published at 12:26 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

Former QPR and England midfielder Jermaine Jenas
    Football Focus

"Charlie Austin has been a credit to QPR, and he's been great value for money and a non-stop goalscorer for them.

"For me, he's special because he's got great movement, running off the back of defenders and always staying alive. And he has an instinct to score, as well as making fantastic runs. He scores old-fashioned, classic strikers goals, many of them winners which is so important.

"He's always on the move, feeling for a chance. There's only so many times you can put his right-place, right-time positioning down to luck."

We'll be interspersing our updates from Derby with analysis of the day's Premier League games on Football Focus, which is under way now on BBC One.

Former England internationals Jermaine Jenas and Danny Mills are looking ahead to this afternoon's match between QPR and Manchester United.

  19. Postpublished at 12:23 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

    Former Portsmouth striker Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 live at the iPro Stadium

"In possession Forest don't play that badly, but out of possession they give away sloppy goals. They've been in dreadful form and this is a big game. And the stats show that, if Stuart Pearce loses this game, he could be out of a job.

"Derby have been ultra-consistent, aside from their first few games of the season. They have been the most fluent side in the division - they knock the ball around very, very well. And if they are that fluent today, Forest will struggle to live with them."

  20. PENALTY SHOUTpublished at 12:22 Greenwich Mean Time 17 January 2015

Jake Buxton is a lucky boy. The Derby defender clearly wrestles Forest striker Michail Antonio to the ground while defending a corner, but referee Andy Madley doesn't see it.
