  1. Manager reactionpublished at 18:24 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2015

Watford boss Slavisa Jokanovic: "I can't be happy because we lost the game, but my team made a good performance. We had good organisation, we played many minutes without the ball. We expected Chelsea to have possession of the ball.

"The arrival of Willian changed the speed and we started suffering more and this player scored a fantastic first goal. At the end, I must be happy with the performance of my players. We try, we made some half-chances and tried to play some fast counter-attack."

Former Hull midfielder Jimmy Bullard on Match of the Day: "Hull started well and I thought there would be a good football match here. But then all of a sudden Arsenal score from a corner and the game totally changes. It was poor defending for me."

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes tells BBC Sport: "We didn't play anything like we should have done and credit to Wrexham, they were excellent.

"In the end we got away wit it. We made changes at the end to try to get some craft into our play and thankfully Stephen Ireland took the game away from them.

"It's been a tough period for everybody and I think I have 17 or 18 players I can call upon. I was hoping I didn't have to use the likes of Peter Crouch and Jonathan Walters."

"The tie should be over now. Arsenal have had some excellent chances, played some great stuff in the final third, but their finishing touch has let them down. Other than that I've been impressed by Arsenal."

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho: "It was difficult. In the first half we didn't play well and Watford were well-organised defensively. The second half was different, we gave a different dynamic to the game. We created and we deserve to win.

"I don't need to be angry to try to change things. I did the changes that I thought could help me change the dynamic of the game. Diego Costa and Willian played very well and in the second half the team followed them.

"If I don't have on the bench players which can help me change the game, probably I don't win. A tired Diego, with 90 minutes of Southampton and 90 minutes of Tottenham, changed the game."

Job done so far for Arsenal. Not a patch on last year's final mind.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18:17 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2015

Paul McShane may not be 36 but he has had a nightmare there. He lets a high ball bounce - criminal - and then catches Nacho Monreal in the chest as he tries to rectify his error. He's in the book and Arsenal have a free-kick in a dangerous area. They waste it.

    David Pleat
Former Tottenham manager on BBC Radio 5 live:

"Whenever Hull break Arsenal are around them like ferrets. Hull have passing players but there is no one with any electricity or cleverness to beat his man. Arsenal have two - Cazorla and Sanchez. There is no penetration from Hull."

It's all very comfortable for Arsenal at the minute. Hull don't look like hurting them at all. Southampton terrorised the Arsenal backline last time out but Hull can't match that level of panic so far.

Better from Hull, but I have to concur with David Pleat. Some nice play down the flanks but it peters out within sight of the Gunners goal.

    David Pleat
Former Tottenham manager on BBC Radio 5 live:

"The biggest problem Hull have got with their squad is that they haven't got enough natural goalscorers. Steve Bruce has midfield players and he has defenders, but he just lacks that quality up front."

Tim Arstall:, external Arsenal really cutting Hull open, but sensational effort by McShane to deny Sanchez, defending like that is worth a goal.

Paul Norris:, external Wow. Mertesacker the man I thought would be the reason that Hull scored goals has gone and scored himself. Fair play to him.

James Payne:, external Some quality stuff but need that second goal as Hull look good in possession.
