"West Ham were poor. They had been playing well without Andy Carroll earlier in the season so I don't think it was a question of missing him. It's just a poor display. Morgan Amalfitano lost his discipline to be sent off but it was all over before then. Another great showing from West Brom under Tony Pulis."

  2. Sherwood new Villa bosspublished at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

    Former Wales striker John Hartson
    FA Cup Final Score

"I think it's a good appointment. Tim Sherwood is a young manager who wants to do well, he had a great spell at Tottenham when he took over there and got them playing well. Villa needed somebody to come in quickly and I think they've done well. They need wins, and hopefully Sherwood can galvanise the team."

Rosie: I know Carroll is a big loss but it's Collins and Reid that West Ham need back ASAP. This makeshift defence is struggling.

Anonymous: Controversial opinion inbound - Amalfitano is brought on with the game effectively over and after showing more fight than anyone else in our team, it all boils over and he's had enough. Don't blame him at all for how he reacted.

Guy (Stoke City fan): When Pulis was at Stoke, everyone was quick to bad mouth him as a single tactic manager. People are very quick to change now their own teams are being saved by him. The man is a genius.

Easy enough for West Brom - they are into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after demolishing a limp West Ham.

James Morrison tries to play in Saido Berahino for one final chance but Adrian reacts quickly to get off his line and gather the ball ahead of the striker.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

A few ironic cheers from the home fans as West Ham pass the ball around in their own half. Moments later, Craig Gardner is replaced by Cristian Gamboa for West Brom as three minutes of added time are announced.

He said: "It is a great honour to manage one of the biggest clubs in English football.

"I can't wait to get started and I'm really looking forward to the challenge."

Sherwood will see his new side in action against Leicester in the FA Cup on Sunday - live on BBC One.

  9. CLOSE!published at 14:31 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Callum McManaman has a go at goal and it is a good effort, curling just wide of the post. West Brom are not giving up on adding to their tally.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

West Ham are proving little more than training cones in a passing exercise for West Brom. The Hammers are offering nothing as an attacking threat as West Brom make a change, more for Brown Ideye to soak up applause than anything else, as the striker is replaced by Chris Baird.

  11. VILLA APPOINT SHERWOODpublished at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

    Aston Villa

Some breaking news from Aston Villa - former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has been appointed as their new boss.

    Full reaction to come.

  12. Postpublished at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

    Former Portsmouth striker Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 live at The Hawthorns

"West Ham just have not made a game of this. They haven't done enough to close West Brom down. The home side have made it all look easy, and West Ham have certainly helped them do that."

  13. Postpublished at 14:24 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

This is the first time West Brom have scored four goals in an FA Cup game against a top-flight side since 1979 and I wouldn't be surprised if they add more goals before full-time. West Ham, who are down to 10 men, look out of fight.

Bernard (West Ham fan): I do hope we won't see our season unravel now and fall away. With the Carroll injury and what looks like a bad loss today it could affect us. Keep the faith. IRONS!

Steve (West Ham fan): Kevin Nolan did a fantastic job getting us promoted from the Championship but enough is enough - there are only so many games that you can compete in with 10 players. Completely lost at this level now.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 14:23 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Fantastic stuff from Adrian as he denies Brown Ideye his hat-trick, pushing his first-time strike from just a few yards out over the bar.

  16. Team Newspublished at 14:21 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Derby County boss Steve McClaren has handed debuts to January signings Jesse Lingard and Stephen Warnock as he makes seven changes to the side that drew 2-2 with Bournemouth in the Championship in midweek. Darren Bent starts up front and George Thorne returns to the matchday squad after a lengthy injury layoff.

Reading boss Steve Clarke brings in Hal Robson-Kanu, Jamie Mackie and Simon Cox as he makes three changes to the side lost 2-0 at home to Leeds in the league on Tuesday.

Derby County XI: Roos, Christie, Keogh, Shotton, Warnock; Mascarell, Hendrick, Bryson; Lingard, Dawkins, Bent

Reading XI: Federici Kelly, Hector, Pearce, Obita Williams, Robson-Kanu, Chalobah, Mackie, Pogrebnyak, Cox

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:21 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

Stephane Sessegnon slowly makes his way off the pitch to warm applause from the home fans and is replaced by Callum McManaman, an FA Cup winner with Wigan.

  18. Postpublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

    Former Portsmouth striker Steve Claridge
BBC Radio 5 live at The Hawthorns

"Every time West Brom have scored, what has been the reaction from West Ham? They haven't responded at all. This is not a lucky 4-0 though. You cannot emphasise enough just what a turnaround Tony Pulis has achieved here. This has probably been the best I've seen West Brom play. Panache, steel, fluent going forward. All very, very good."

  19. Postpublished at 14:19 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

West Brom are not finished, they want another as Craig Dawson has a go from distance, drawing a good save out of Adrian, who has undoubtedly been the busiest West Ham player this afternoon.

  20. Postpublished at 14:17 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2015

The West Brom fans are absolutely loving this and rightfully so. It is a deserved win for their side and the performance will give them confidence of retaining their Premier League status. The magic of the FA Cup? The magic of Tony Pulis for the Baggies.
