The last eight of this season's FA Cup have won the famous trophy 50 times between them, with Reading the only remaining side yet to win it.

The Royals are priced at 40/1 to end that streak this year, with Arsenal installed as favourites at this stage.

Dedication. Madness. It's a fine line between the two sometimes.

Selling a kidney is one thing, plus for example the story of Preston fan Dan Bull from Penwortham., external

The slightly unhinged individual dragged a mattress to Deepdale last week at 2.30am and waited in the cold for the final 2,000 tickets to go on sale.

I don't know whether to applaud or be appalled...

There were a few empty seats on view at some of the other FA Cup fifth-round ties over the weekend, but there is no chance of that being the case at Deepdale tonight.

One Preston supporter even flew over from South Africa offering to sell his kidney, external to get in - thankfully the Football Association stepped in to offer him a pair before he was able to offload any body parts.

"It's a crisp clear winter's night in Preston, where fans are already gathering outside Deepdale, many pausing to take a picture of the famous 'Splash' statue of Sir Tom Finney outside the ground. Saturday marked one year since Sir Tom passed away at the age of 91 and North End boss Simon Grayson wants a performance tonight that would have made football's most famous plumber proud.

"This club has fantastic history and tradition," said Grayson. "It would be a fantastic way to mark what he did for this club with a good performance and hopefully a result for him."

"You've got to go into a game like this and enjoy it," said Preston boss Simon Grayson this week. "Our players may never get the chance to play against the likes of Radamel Falcao, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie again.

"The one thing you have to say to them before they go out is have no regrets.

"We know the task that's against us because of what they are and what they're capable of doing but we've got nothing to lose and they've got everything to lose.

"There's always one shock, there's always a hero, and hopefully it's going to be a Preston North End player."
