Juan Mata has been on Wikipedia. Here are his thoughts from his blog on tonight's opponents: "I have been reading a bit about tonight's rival and I have seen that Preston North End was one of the founder members of the English League, and they even got to win it without a single defeat.

"We play at Deepdale Stadium, which is considered the world's oldest stadium in professional football. It is said to have hosted its first game in 1875…Definitely this is a team who also brings that historic touch that I like about English football.

"However, they are not living in the past: they are in a good position in the League One and I'm sure they want to add to his long history a great performance against Manchester United."

He definitely said all of that. 100%.

Manchester United have won the FA Cup 11 times, but they don't have a single player in their squad who has won the Cup with them after Darren Fletcher's departure on deadline day.

You'd just assume that Wayne Rooney had won the Cup wouldn't you? Well he hasn't...

    Chris Bevan at Deepdale
    BBC Sport

Manchester United's starting XI tonight cost £247.9m in transfer and loan fees, with a further £54m on the bench. That's about £300m more than Preston paid to assemble their squad, who have just emerged to warm-up to loud cheers.

The other things separating the two sides are 44 league places and the 43 years since they last met, but none of that seems to bother increasingly famous Preston fan Roop Singh (see 18:53 GMT), who has just been up to the Deepdale press box.

"Preston hold the record for the biggest win in an FA Cup tie (26-0 v Hyde United in 1887 ) and we have also won the Cup without conceding a goal," he told BBC Sport. "United have had more than 100 years to break those records but they re things they can only dream of."
