Gareth Barry plays a cute pass through the lines to find Christian Atsu on the turn, one good pass and Romelu Lukaku is away but the on-loan Chelsea man's ball is poor and cut out. Everton look the more incisive side at the moment.

A good opening 10 minutes for Everton. They've looked very lively on the attack and have restricted Kiev to a few half-sights of goal.

Chrsitian Atsu gets going down the right for Everton, genuine pace, and he's tackled but the ball runs on to Ross Barkley. His first instinct is to get a shot away but it's blocked. He had Leighton Baines haring into space on his left, if he had looked up, Baines would have been in...

Ryan Stayner: As a Man Utd fan, have thoroughly enjoyed watching Everton in Europe, and Spurs for that matter. Would love to see them win it.

MJC1973: Unusual position as an LFC fan. Hoping Everton win to keep British team interest in Europe. Not normal at all.

Ross Barkley has Everton's first shot of the night and catches it nicely enough, it's low and hard and Kiev keeper Olexandr Shovkovskiy fields it at the second attempt. End-to-end start.

Chance! Everton switch off from a throw-in, it runs on to midfielder Antunes and he slices his shot just wide from 20 yards. That would have been a disastrous start.

Steven Naismith has started wide on the left, with Romelu Lukaku up front on his own and Ross Barkley in the hole.

I'm not going to beat around the bush - this is a poor pitch. It's no Bloomfield Road, but it's not what you'd expect from a top-class European fixture. Ross Barkley's first touch is a bobbly one and the ball gets away from him. Kiev counter and Oleg Gusev heads over the top.

It has filled up a fair bet now. Loud enough for six PM on a Thursday anyway. Let's get on with it!

Almost time for kick-off in Kiev. The ground is supposedly sold-out but it looked pretty empty a few moments ago. A late surge maybe.

It's half-time in Moscow and Napoli are still in control of the tie, despite Dinamo dominating.

The Russian club, trailing 3-1 from the first leg, have had two goals disallowed for offside.

Rafael Benitez's Serie A club have had their moments, too, with Dries Mertens hitting the bar with an effort from distance.

    Italian Serie A

In some news from around Europe, Serie A club Parma have been declared bankrupt by a court in Italy but will be allowed to see out of the season.

The club's debts are estimated at nearly 75m euros (£54m).

Giampietro Manenti promised to clear the debts when he took over as chairman last month but he was arrested on Wednesday after being accused of involvement in a credit card scam.

The Italian league has allocated 5m euro (£3.6m) so the league's bottom club can fulfil their fixtures.

Katy in Poole: Everton are nothing but the best and if the team stick to that philosophy there is no reason why we cannot go all the way in Europe - twice!

Dan Stratford: I think Everton can go all the way. Average in the Prem but showing their true qualities in Europe. Come on Blues!

NotYourAverageMaria: We'll win it, obviously. Positive mental attitude.

Ulysses Salmon: Europa League winners, place in the Champions League but relegated into the Championship. Sounds like a Roberto Martinez season.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez on ITV4: "You always feel that you carry momentum into the game with back-to-back wins and we have had two good performances. Dynamo are a technical side with good individuals but we are really looking forward to the game.

"You have to adapt to what is in front of you, the pitch is not at the standard we expect. We will approach the game as ourselves.

"There will be over 70,000 fans in the stands and if you come to try and just keep a clean sheet that would be very dangerous. We want to win the game."

Here's Dynamo Kiev coach Sergei Rebrov having a shot for Tottenham in 2000.

For fans of a younger age, Rebrov was a really exciting signing for Spurs. No, he was. Alongside Andriy Shevchenko - who would later go on to flop at Chelsea - he had forged a brilliant strike partnership for Kiev and was expected to set the Premier League alight.

However, he scored just 10 Premier League goals in four years before an equally unproductive season with West Ham. A season I'd completely forgotten about, in fact.

Alex Duval: Don't see why we can't make the final. Our squad is as good as any. Everton vs Wolfsburg final would be great.
