BBC WM reporter Mikey Burrows: " Wolves are after a striker, but have had a £4m offer for Joe Mason rejected by Cardiff. Richard Stearman has joined Fulham but a move for winger Rajiv van La Parra to Leeds looks unlikely.

" Birmingham believe interest in Demarai Gray has cooled, while Walsall are fighting off bids for their top scorer Tom Bradshaw and both clubs are confident of keeping their players beyond 18:00 BST."

Looks like Charlie Austin is going to be staying at QPR. The striker has sent out the below tweet and also retweeted Sam Wallace, who says that the 26-year-old will remain at Loftus Road and see out his contract, which runs until the summer of 2016.

  5. Who do Chelsea need?published at 15:20

Earlier today we asked you to send in your questions about transfer deadline day for former Everton and Republic of Ireland winger Kevin Kilbane.

Connor McLaughlanasked: "What kind of players do you think Chelsea need?"

Kevin says: "Chelsea have looked a little bit off the pace, not what I’d expect from a Jose Mourinho side. But I do think they will get better as the season goes on - they have the right structure there to succeed. I do like John Stones though, and if he did go to Chelsea he’d certainly learn a lot. He’s put in a transfer request, he wants to play Champions League football but I think it would be best for him to stay at Everton for a year or two. And his club have dug their heels in."

    Virgil van Dijk

"Virgil van Dijk’s transfer to Southampton strengthens what was one of the meanest Premier League defences of last season but which has suffered mixed fortunes in the current campaign so far.

"With a strong goalscoring record at Celtic, Van Dijk offers fantasy football points potential at both ends of the pitch. On the downside, however, his signing will likely end budget favourite Maya Yoshida’s run in the Southampton starting 11."

  8. Cisse for the Hoops?published at 15:15

File this under the 'unlikely' column, but I'm hearing reports that QPR and Newcastle may be talking about a striker swap.

Papiss Cisse and a lorry load of cash for Charlie Austin?I can't see Cisse plying his trade in the Championship, but I can see him wanting to live in London. Stranger things have happened. I guess...

From Martin in Southampton:  If you move deadline day to a date before season starts, players like Martial would not be available. He and his club were clearly waiting to see if Monaco qualified for the Champions League before agreeing a move. As to whether he's worth £36m - who can tell at this stage? If he scores goals that win United the Premier League or get them into the Champions League final stages - then many times over!

    Alistair speaks sense...

Regardless of who is in the wrong this morning, Real Madrid had an entire transfer window to pursue David De Gea. Why didn't they do the deal in July? The truth seems to be that they chose to wait for Manchester United to lower their asking price, and as a result they may not get their man... for now.

Why don't Arsenal go after Saido Berahino? English and quality striker. I have no faith in our current strikers

Earlier today we asked you to send in your questions about transfer deadline day for former Everton and Republic of Ireland winger Kevin Kilbane.

Callum Harrisonasked: "Are you impressed with Man City’s transfers this summer?"

Kevin says: "I have been. Raheem Sterling has started really well and we all know what a top player he is, Nicolas Otamendi is a good signing at centre-back, Fabian Delph, even if he doesn’t establish himself, gives them strength throughout the squad and is good value.

"And Kevin De Bruyne looks a very good deal. I think it’ll be Jesus Navas who drops out of the side for the big games, making way for a three of Sterling, David Silva and De Bruyne, with Sergio Aguero up front. Going forward they look ominous for the league."

The clock is ticking. That's its job. And it has just passed the mark that signifies three hours to go in this transfer window.

These are the big headlines so far today...

Manchester United are set to complete the £36m signing of 19-year-old Monaco forward Anthony Martial.

David De Gea's £29m move from Manchester United to Real Madrid has collapsed.

Everton have signed defender Ramiro Funes Mori from Argentine club River Plate for £9.5m on a five-year deal.

West Ham have signed midfielder Alex Song on a season-long loan from Barcelona and added Chelsea's Victor Moses on another loan for the whole campaign.

Bournemouth have completed a deal for striker Glenn Murray for £4m from Crystal Palace and Southampton have just snapped up defender Virgil van Dijk from Celtic.

  16. 'Anthony Martial in same category as Henry'published at 14:55

    Quote Message

I don’t think he is worth the money they are paying now [£36m] but the potential for him to become a world-class player is definitely there. I was a youth coach at Monaco when Thierry Henry was there and I was at Arsenal when Nicolas Anelka was there as a teenager and for me Martial is in the same category as those two. So he could have a huge impact for Manchester United in the future.

    Glenn Murray

    Simon March

“Glenn Murray joins Bournemouth off the back of his most productive fantasy football season, having delivered seven goals and five assists for the Eagles in 2014-15.

"Murray may struggle to displace Callum Wilson up front for the Cherries with the latter having scored four goals in their last two games. However it does clear the way for Connor Wickham and Chelsea-loanee Patrick Bamford to each stake their claim as budget forward options in Alan Pardew’s highly attacking Crystal Palace side.”
