Pete Roach:  The only good thing for both of the Manchester clubs tonight is that the other lost.

Jon:  Terrible night for United. Moreno should've been off, ref poor. Mata, Fellaini useless. Must take chances, created enough.

Bhavin Shah:  More upset about Shaw than the defeat - didn't deserve the draw considering their keeper didn't make a 2nd half save.

Double woe for Manchester tonight then.

Both sides can take positives from their displays but the overall feeling is one of disappointment and ultimately frustration.

"It's a familiar, familiar feeling around Etihad Stadium - Manchester City finding life tough in the Champions League even when they are dominant domestically. There is just an unease around the team and supporters when it comes to this tournament. It still feels like Manchester City need to convince themselves that they belong here."
