    Man United 0-0 CSKA Moscow

CSKA (sporting shirts in the Man City, should be directing planes at an airport vein) are starting to edge into the game at Old Trafford. Well, they've had some possession. No efforts on goal, though.

  2. Postpublished at 20:06

    Sevilla 0-2 Man City

City's Jesus Navas is allowed to run, and run, and run, and run, Forrest Gump style right to the edge of the box before firing in a low shot that Sergio Rico saves.

    Sevilla 0-2 Man City

City have been rampant so far. They have had six shots on target to Sevilla's zero so far. They are finding gaps all over the place. And Sevilla have no excuse for losing City players, not when they are wearing those shirts.

    Sevilla 0-2 Man City

Sevilla nearly have a goal back. Coke's cross is flicked on Vicente Iborra and put over the bar from close range by Fernando Llorente. He should have scored.

At Old Trafford, United are looking to keep up the pressure and it almost tells as Daley Blind's long ball into the box just evades the outstretched boot of Juan Mata. CSKA are chasing shadows.

Territory is even so far in this one but Manchester United have around 70% possession. Some evidence that CSKA are little threat so far? How about Ahmed Musa - their striker - having only touched the ball to kick off.

  10. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 19:58

    Sevilla 0-2 Man City

Wowzers! Manchester City are flying. Jesus Navas, on his return to his boyhood club, almost makes it 3-0! The Spanish winger bursts into the right side of the home penalty area, arrowing a low drive across home keeper Sergio Rico. But Sevilla are saved by the post.

  12. CSKA have numbers...published at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2015

    Man Utd 0-0 CSKA Moscow

    Pat Nevin
BBC Radio 5 live at Old Trafford

"There's a really nice buzz about the place. The fans have seen a nice zippy start and it feels like they are quite positive about it.

"Ignoring who was the home side and the away side. You'd say Manchester United should be overwhelmed in midfield as CSKA have such an advantage of numbers in there. Let's see if they make the most of it."

Manchester United have began with a 4-4-2 which sees both wingers advanced.

Wayne Rooney looks like he is enjoying his more withdrawn role so far.

The England captain finds a pocket of space just in front of the CSKA back four, swivels on the ball and picks out a lovely reverse ball into Jesse Lingard.

CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev comes haring off his line to smother at Lingard's feet, but promising for United.

It is the start that dreams are made of for City. two minutes and 49 seconds after sterling's opener, the forward is clear down the left before crossing low for Bony, whose shot is saved but palmed up for (yes, you guessed it) Fernandinho to head home unchallenged.

City are right up for this. They threaten again as Aleksandar Kolarov finds space (in a similar position to where Sterling scored from) but is denied by the legs of home keeper Sergio Rico.

Bang! City are up and running and Raheem Sterling has his first Champions League goal. Fernandinho (him again) plays a superb pass through the defence to Sterling, who makes no mistake with a cool angled finish into the far corner.

Man United are dominating possession. They are zipping the ball around nicely. Wayne Rooney almost latches on to a loose back-pass but Igor Akinfeev is quickly off his line to beat the United forward to the ball and clear. Almost the chance Rooney needed. Almost.

Fernandinho is certainly getting stuck in. He has another effort from range, which flies wide.

Meanwhile, at Old Trafford, Wayne Rooney swivels in the box to latch on to a loose ball but pulls his shot past the post.
