    Zlatan everywhere...

Real Madrid, fresh from a hammering in El Clasico, face a tester in Ukraine against Shakhtar Donetsk, while in Sweden it's all about Zlatan.

When is it not? But particularly so this evening as Mr. Ibrahimovic brings his PSG side to Malmo and a match-up with his old club.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has sent Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Memphis Depay into action together in what, on paper at least, looks an exciting forward line.

Rooney and Martial return to side as two of four changes from the team that won at Watford at the weekend. Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo come in to defence in place of Phil Jones and Ashley Young. Marouane Fellaini is on the bench.

Manchester United XI: De Gea, Darmian, Smalling, Rojo, Blind; Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin, Lingard, Rooney, Memphis, Martial.

Thomas Muller - in space as usual...

Manchester City were picked apart by the new industry of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side on Saturday, as they felt the full force of 'gegenpressing.'

Nobody really knows what it means, but there's something satisfying about dropping in a new word into the football lexicon.

The Germans are the kings of the niche phrase. From the brilliant 'Raumdeuter' (Literally a space investigator - used to describe Thomas Muller's knack of finding space) to the sensational 'Anschlusstreffer' (Thegoal that reduces the deficit to one, eg brings the score to 2-1 rather than 2-0).

Could a player - previously unheralded - who goes on a massive scoring run be called 'a Vardy?'

South America has bought us the 'rabona' and the Italians 'Catenaccio', but we want you to think of your own.

They can be pun-based, a phrase you and your mates use and you can't remember why, a port from another sport/game/way of life, a mangling of Ronglish - whatever you like.

And perhaps most importantly, they can be for the most niche parts of the game, the little details that our language hasn't caught up with.

What do you call that free-kick that Ronaldo takes, right on the valve of the ball? Should there be a word for a mascot observing a minute's silence? How about a goal that ends a long drought for a striker? What do you call it when a fan gets hit by a ball? What do you call someone who buys half-and-half scarves?

    This is your chance.

Because of numerous injuries Manuel Pellegrini has had to look to his youth team to fill his bench, picking three teenagers.

Pablo Maffeo, a Spanish right-back, Tosin Adarabioyo, an English centre-back (both 18) and Bersant Celina, a 19-year-old Norwegian attacking midfielder, would all make their Manchester City debuts if they see action against Juventus.

In tonight's other featured game Manchester City have the luxury of having already qualified for the knockout stages before they take on last year's losing finalists, Juve.

It's the third year in a row that they have negotiated the group. Can they reach the last eight for the first time this time around though?

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is fit tonight but may not start, says manager Louis van Gaal.

Rooney trained on Tuesday after missing Saturday's 2-1 win over Watford with illness.

But asked if Rooney would regain his place in the XI, Van Gaal said: "No, not automatically."

Striker Anthony Martial is also fit, but midfielder Ander Herrera and defender Phil Jones are unavailable.

Marouane Fellaini, who also missed the Watford match, has recovered from a calf injury.

But Van Gaal said the Belgian midfielder, Martial and Rooney would have to "show on the training ground" that they deserved a starting place for the Group B match.

    Manchester United

In a competition which often throws up confusing permutations and difficult head-to-head calculations tonight's Champions League throws up a refreshingly simple scenario for us all to get to grips with:

If Manchester United beat PSV Eindhoven at Old Trafford then they are into the last 16. It's as easy as that.
