Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas on Fellaini: "It can work with dangerous crosses into the box to Fellaini, but that is the beauty of having someone like Petr Cech, he wil come out and collect crosses and nullifies that danger."

Petr Cech is alert to get off his line and pluck the ball away from the feet of Bastian Schweinsteiger, who broke clear of the defence after a low ball found its way to the midfielder.

Manchester United need to put those opportunities away with time running out for them to stage some sort of miracle comeback.

    Arsenal 3-0 Man Utd

Theo Walcott steams in on Daley Blind, poking the ball away from the feet of the defender but his momentum means the ball flies forward and straight to David De Gea.

This half is a shadow of the first. Need more goals please.

Adam: LVG has made a career out of being ruthless, no player bigger than the club, the good of the team etc. etc. yet he's completely choking when it comes to Rooney. He has been awful, not bad, not poor but awful for a long time now and needs to be dropped. NOW.

Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas: "Arsenal have got a three goal lead and have the ability to drop back into positions. United have to be patient and switch the play, they can't counter attack like Arsenal can as the Gunners are just filling the gaps."

  7. CLOSE!published at 61 mins

    Arsenal 3-0 Man Utd

Wayne Rooney fizzes a dipping shot towards the far post from outside the area and Petr Cech claws it behind for a corner. It is Manchester United's fourth of the game but it is another poor one as he finds only an Arsenal player.

Surprisingly, United have had more shots on target than Arsenal now with four. The Gunners have had three, and scored three goals. Clinical.

    Arsenal 3-0 Man Utd

Despite Manchester United's improvement in possession, they are still not really troubling the Arsenal defence.

Instead, it is the Gunners who look more dangerous on the attack as a lovely, flowing move ends with Aaron Ramsey inside the area, but he can't quite get his shot off before Manchester United clear.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 55 mins

Wayne Rooney appears to let a bit of frustration get the better of him as pushes Mesut Ozil off the ball and is shown the yellow card.

Manchester United have a lot to do but in fairness, they have been much better in this half.

Andy: The most worrying thing for United fans should be that, whenever the going gets tough, it seems the answer is to hoof long balls to Fellaini. I think LVG's results have been flattering, both this season and last.

Arsenal break, three on three with Aaron Ramsey leading the charge. He is tumbled to the floor by Michael Carrick and it is a free-kick to Arsenal about 25 yards from goal...

    Arsenal 3-0 Man Utd

Manchester United are managing to put together a few passes in the early stages of this half, which is certainly an improvement on the first few minutes of the first half.

The spell of possession ends when Ashley Young is allowed to run unchecked towards the area, and he lets fly with a shot that is plucked out of the air by Petr Cech. Not too troubling for the Arsenal keeper.

So the half-time changes mean Antonio Valencia slots in at right back, with Marouane Fellaini in the middle and Wayne Rooney shifted wide left.
