    Liverpool 0-0 Man Utd

The odds of a red card tonight have just come in after that early, very early booking for the Reds skipper. Steven Gerrard-esque.

The crowd are fervent as Henderson now starts a good move down the left but the cross in is headed out by Chris Smalling.

"That yellow card sets a precedent early on. It was high from Jordan Henderson. You might get away with that in the Premier League, but he left a little bit on Morgan Schneiderlin."

    Liverpool 0-0 Man Utd

A cracking start as now Adam Lallana goes into the box and wants a penalty - not a chance.

Now Jordan Henderson catches Morgan Schneiderlin and he's booked inside two minutes. Frantic stuff!

    Liverpool 0-0 Man Utd

Under way! Memphis Depay crosses from the left and Marcus Rashford is in - he takes his eye off it though and knees it wide.

    A chance inside 30 seconds!

"The Manchester United fans down to our right are in full voice and you can really feel the tension building in the air now. I don't buy into what Louis van Gaal said about this game in the build-up; this is not just another match. This is huge."

I wonder how Jurgen Klopp's recovery from appendix surgery is coming along? I get the feeling it may be tested tonight...

Fantastic atmosphere. It rivals Dortmund, that's for sure!

The Kop has all of the big flags and banners out in display tonight as Bill Shankly and Joe Fagan watch on in cloth form. Scarves aloft for 'You'll Never Walk Alone' - one of football's magic moments.

Unless you hate Liverpool of course. The Anfield Road End attempt to drown it out...

It's easy to over-react on the back of a few nights in Europe, but the Premier League is not showing up too well against our continental friends and rivals at the moment.

One of these two giants are guaranteed a place in the last eight of course...

Liverpool great John Barnes was one of the most skilled English midfielders of the past 40 years.

But he was also quite handy with the mic in his hand - who could forget his turn on Liverpool's Anfield Rap (1988) before he took it to another level for the New Order-England song World in Motion in 1990.

While he hung up his boots a long time ago, he has not retired his singing voice.

This amateur footage shows the 52-year-old ex-England midfielder perform Sugarhill Gang's 1979 smash Rapper's Delight on stage at the Heswall British Legion Club '70's disco night.
