Portugal defender Cedric Soares: "This is all about winning and that's why we're going to Paris. France and Germany are both amazing teams, but we'll prepare the best we can for the final.

"It's amazing. Incredible to be in the final, it defies description but we've earned this, we deserved the congratulations. We were united, focused, but we have to congratulate Wales too, it was the first time they reached the semis, we knew they were a good team but we came out on top."

"The fans are the best in the world, by far. We wish we could have done it for them. We'd like to thank all the fans at home and all the fans who traveled out and behaved themselves.

"We've had a taste of it now and we look forward to the future. We have confidence. We don't want to turn up to one tournament, it's about the bigger picture."

European Football Expert on BBC Radio 5 live

Portugal came into this tournament with a plan, and it's a good plan. There is no difference between how they played in qualifying and in the finals, not great football, not great to watch but it gets the job done.

Portugal have looked really solid and once they took the lead you couldn't see Wales getting past them.

Portugal don't care about playing good football. The press have been using the criticism to stoke the fire.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the first player to play in three Euro semi-finals (also in 2004 and 2012).

Ronaldo also appeared in his 20th Euros finals game, three more than any other player (Buffon and Schweinsteiger on 17).

Ronaldo equalled Michel Platini’s record of nine Euros goals.

Five of Ronaldo’s nine goals have been headers.

This is fourth time Ronaldo has scored and assisted in same Euros finals game, twice as many as any other player (Since 1980).

Neil Cheese: For me, teams of the tournament have to be Iceland and Wales, both on and off the pitch.

demy: Wales need to try to produce more players and coaches so this high doesn't become another low in football.good team.

Lee Parkinson: Unlucky Wales but you have been awesome this tournament it has been great watching you.

One of football's, maybe life's, psychological questions raised there from Callum.

Is it better to get hammered in a semi-final, or lose like tonight and have a nagging feeling that it could have been so different?

Rachel: If anything the match has proved that it's not Bale that's pivotal to Wales, it's Ramsey. The link-up play was missing tonight.

Kyle: Bar a crazy three-minute spell with one lucky goal and poorly defended corner there was nothing between the sides.

Callum Mackenzie: This Welsh team has been incredible, but I can't help but think that Portugal were there for the taking.

I don't think Wales played that badly, it was just a three-minute spell when the best player in the world turned up. Today it just went against us, there was a little misunderstanding on the defending for the second goal as well.
