  1. 'A mountain to climb [reprise]'published at 21:11 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

    Portual 2-0 Wales

    John Hartson
Ex-Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

A mountain to climb. Defensively it was slow coming out, and not as a unit, Nani gambles and gets the boot onto the ball. 2-0 down? Wales need to respond like they did against Belgium. The next goal could be pivotal.

  2. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Portugal 2-0 Wales

'Please don't take me home' sing the Wales fans, and their players have 35 minutes or so to delay those flights back to the UK.

The backing is terrific. The play needs to come to meet it.

  3. 'A mountain to climb'published at 21:10 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

    Portugal 2-0 Wales

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder for BBC Match of the Day

It's a shattering blow for Wales. Cristiano Ronaldo scuffs his shot and it's good reactions from Nani. Wales really do have a mountain to climb now. It's so disappointing.

  4. goal

GOAL - Portugal 2-0 Walespublished at 53 mins

    Nani

Portugal haven't won a game in 90 minutes yet - but they may well do tonight now!

Wales look sleepy at the back as Cristiano Ronaldo shoots low from 25 yards, it's a fairly tame effort but Nani stretches to divert the ball past a wrongfooted Wayne Hennessey and in.

    Two awful goals to concede.

  5. 'Ronaldo's spring'published at 21:09 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

    Portugal 1-0 Wales

    Kevin Ratcliffe
Former Wales captain on BBC Radio 5 live

I'm not too sure about the marking. Chester was on him, but wouldn't you rather Collins pick him up? Ronaldo isolates his man and gets the run on him. You cannot let him get that spring.

  6. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Portugal 1-0 Wales

Wales win a free-kick which Gareth Bale swings in, and Rui Patricio was not too convincing as he punches one clear...

  7. 'Off a ladder!'published at 21:07 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

    Portugal 1-0 Wales

    John Hartson
Ex-Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Cristiano Ronaldo with an unbelievable header. He just pulls onto the back post, a short corner is whipped in and he just climbs. It's as if he's jumped off a ladder! What a brilliant goal.

  8. 'Big moment, big player'published at 21:07 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

    Portugal 1-0 Wales

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder for BBC Match of the Day

It's an absolutely incredible leap. Unbelievable. That's why he's one of the best players in the world. Big moments. Big players. What a goal.

They changed the angle of the corner to suit him and it worked.

    Portugal 1-0 Wales

Wales were behind against Belgium, of course, and came back to win. No need to panic just yet.

  10. goal

GOAL - Portugal 1-0 Walespublished at 50 mins

    Cristiano Ronaldo

There he is! The £80m targetman! Cristiano Ronaldo opens the scoring with a tremendous header, he hangs in the air above James Chester to meet a corner and it's a fantastic connection.

Seven yards out, bullets the header into the roof of the net. Unstoppable.

Marcus Donkor: This is going all the way to pens. Wales will gladly defend and Portugal hardly score. Brace yourselves for a long night.

This is poor, very poor. No quality at all as both sides continue to give the ball away continually. Strangled by the occasion?

  13. Ronaldo time?published at 21:03 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

    Portugal 0-0 Wales

Cristiano Ronaldo loves a second-half goal at international level. Gareth Bale scores more of his goals in the first 45, though his is a fairly even split.

    Portugal 0-0 Wales

    John Hartson
Ex-Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

It needs to be same again from Wales, just take a little bit more care with the ball going forward. And then as the game progresses we'll see who might look to change it up first.

  15. Postpublished at 46 mins

    Portugal 0-0 Wales

Wales had 53% of possession in the opening half and they start the second period with a lengthy passing move, Joe Allen and Joe Ledley thoroughly involved.

This game needs a spark badly. A mistake, great goal, well any goal really.

Wales are potentially 45 minutes away from the final though. Extraordinary really.

  20. Murray throughpublished at 20:55 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

Yes as Grant points out, the action on Centre Court has finished for the day as Andy Murray won through in five sets.

We may need a tie break of our own in Lyon tonight.
