Grant Dommen: Good of Wales and Portugal to keep it goalless while the tennis was on.

John Maidens: If another Wales defender passes to yet another defender I fear I shall combust.

Richard: Not a lot of excitement thus far but my heart's going nineteen to the dozen.

Cristiano Ronaldo has only looked a threat in the air. Are his legs going? He's no Hal Rosbon-Kanu these days.

    Portugal 0-0 Wales

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer in Lyon

No point dressing it up - that was a dull first half.

The big plus for Wales is that it will have confirmed what they already knew, namely that they have little to fear from Portugal.

Yes, Portugal have a world-class player in Cristiano Ronaldo but Wales have one of their own in Gareth Bale and he has looked more dangerous than his Real Madrid team-mate.

    So tight though.

If you want an indication of how that half went, the four players to touch the ball most were defenders - James Chester leading the way with 55. He also has made the most passes, 52.

Hal Robson-Kanu has passed the ball four times.

Matthias Siefert: Half-time! A bit of excitement at last!

Neil Cheese: Not the greatest game ever but Wales are still in it at half-time. Maybe only one moment of genius away from the final...

Something particularly entertaining about Cristiano Ronaldo developing into the world's most expensive targetman. Chip it up, watch him battle with James Collins.

    Kevin Ratcliffe
Former Wales captain on BBC Radio 5 live

There's not been too much to shout about. Both sides look edgy. If Wales can just settle down a little in the second half, I think this game could just be won by a few changes, a few substitutions.could turn it.

  10. 'Warning signs'published at 20:45 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

    Portugal 0-0 Wales

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder for BBC Match of the Day

It was a really good ball but James Chester does just enough to put Cristiano Ronaldo off. You'd expect Ronaldo to hit the target from there. It's warning signs for Wales.

I think Gareth Bale has been the better of the two.

    Portugal 0-0 Wales

    John Hartson
Ex-Wales striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Chris Coleman will be happy enough with this so far, there's been no serious attempts on goal from Portugal, they've defended strongly. He might like to have seen a bit more quality from Wales in attack, but Portugal have been defending well too.

    Leeks? Roast lamb?

  14. CLOSE!published at 44 mins

    Portugal 0-0 Wales

Portugal are basically using Cristiano Ronaldo as Carl Leaburn, or Andy Carroll. It's hit the big man every time as they pump a ball to the back post, this time it's a good cross and he climbs well - but flicks a header wide.

Cristiano Ronaldo now goes for goal with his left foot from 25 yards, again that man James Collins is on him to shut it down. Deflected away for a corner which Wayne Hennesey claims at the second attempt.

Shane Daly: This Portugal team just leeches the entertainment & talent out of games. It's either genius or lousy by the manager.

Jay: I'm gonna call it - what a boring game it has been so far.

John Maidens: Wales need to get that goal and soon...

James Collins hasn't started a game since 2 March, for West Ham against Tottenham. No signs of rust on the one they [presumably affectionately] call 'Ginge'.

  19. Rampant Robson-Kanupublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

    Portugal 0-0 Wales

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Stade de Lyon

There were a few wry smiles in the press room when Hal Robson-Kanu said of Portugal and Real Madrid centre-back Pepe: "I don't know how much he will be looking forward to playing against me."

Injury has ruled Pepe out of this match, so Robson-Kanu has had to turn his attention to his replacement Bruno Alves.

The Wales striker has been true to his word. Brimming with confidence following his stunning goal in the quarter-final win over Belgium, the free agent is stretching Portugal’s defence with his powerful running and Alves looks a little uncomfortable.

You feel both teams are trying to force it a little too much. They're not being patient enough, not waiting for the spaces to open up.

Collins has more than held his own up against Ronaldo so far. He's played him ever so well.
