  1. 'It could have been 6-0'published at 14:09 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Manchester United 1-1 Stoke

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho: "Best United performance all season. It could have been 3-0 or 4-0 at half-time, 6-0 at the end of the game, but the result was 1-1. But that's football.

"It was a much better performance than against Leicester. It was the best performance by far, six, seven, eight great chances to win the game. This United team is one that wants to score more goals and be completely in control.

"In the first minute their goalkeeper made an unbelievable save and he kept doing that until the end of the game. He started with an amazing save to Zlatan and ended with an amazing save from Zlatan. You can say what you want, but that's my opinion.

"For me, a great performance. With a bad result, the reaction of the fans at the end of the game says absolutely everything. Stoke fought like they do every game. They came for a draw. They were lucky but luck is part of football and my tribute to them is that they're not guilty of our bad luck."

  2. Big guns out - but still quality on showpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

Tottenham v Manchester City (14:15 BST)

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at White Hart Lane

Spurs and Manchester City may be missing injured Harry Kane and Kevin de Bruyne - but there is still so much class on display here at White Hart Lane.

We will learn a lot more about these two teams in the next 90 minutes. If Manchester City win plenty will ask who can seriously stop them - if Spurs are victorious plenty will ask if they are genuine title contenders.

  4. 'You can't fault the effort'published at 14:03 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

Stoke midfielder Joe Allen: "To go a goal behind against a team like that and get a point is a tough ask but we did it. When you come to Old Trafford you're not going to get many chances.

"We haven't been picking up many points but you can't fault the effort. We were determined to come here and get at least a point. We did threaten at times, which is a good sign for the weeks to come.

"Th last three have been good performances, we haven't quite had the results, but everyone understands that the signs are promising."

Darren: Zlatan's finishing is so poor, we should of had three or four goals today easily. Made their reserve goalkeeper look like Manuel Neuer!

Alan in Seaton: Arguably United's best performance of the season, could have and should have scored six. Stoke should feel very embarrassed walking off after that battering!

Jack in Manchester: Quite simply, not good enough from United today.

  6. Spurs gone 'under the radar'published at 14:01 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

Tottenham v Man City (14:15 BST)

Former Middlesbrough goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer: "It could be frenetic. Both of these teams like to have possession and press high up the pitch. It will be a really interesting game. Tottenham have quietly gone about their business. They have gone under the radar and are slowly coming into form now."

Former Manchester City defender Danny Mills: "Pep drew a game simple as that. Going forward they are expectional but have had had defensive frailties for a number of years. Celtic raised their game massively, they threw caution to the wind and maybe caught City unawares."

    Leicester v Southampton (14:15 BST)

Tough to retain the league? I'm not sure even the Leicester dressing room really believe they can win it again this year. But they have won back-to-back games in the Champions League already, an incredible achievement that has maybe gone a little under the radar.

Progress in Europe and a solid season in the league. Maybe a cup run elsewhere? I think the folk of Leicester would more than settle for that.

Once you win the league it's so difficult to win it again because you are there to be beaten. As soon as you lose a couple of games people are saying 'it's not the same'. They have to balance the Champions League, the Premier League and the increase in expectation as well.

Matt Chapman: Another awful performance from United - so little penetration against one of the worst defences in the league.

Duncan Evans: Jose Mourinho will be gone by Christmas mark my words. Nothing special about the 'Special One' at all!

KN: United performance is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. £££m spent, top coach, stutters to a home draw versus Stoke.

  10. 'Spurs will set out to stop City'published at 13:58 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

Tottenham v Man City (14:15 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson

Spurs have been efficient this season. The difference between them and Manchester City is they have built from back to front. If you are Mauricio Pochettino you are not going to let CIty's main players play. It's all about nicking a goal for Tottenham this afternoon. Kevin de Bruyne is out and that helps Tottenham. Spurs have got to stop them playing as a priority.

So Manchester United fans don't seem too happy with that display and result. United have won 13 points from their opening seven games this season; three fewer than at this stage of last season under Louis van Gaal.

Stoke fans - where are you? Let's be having you. Happy with that?

Anthony: If United wanna win titles, we need to be beating teams like Stoke at home, it's unacceptable.

Endurance O'Beju: Stoke City dropped two points today.

Matt Catchpole: United played some good stuff - but, Martial apart, shocking finishing - Pogba could've had four - not good enough.

Shamim Miah: Man Utd shouldn't have spent so much money on Paul Pogba! He doesn't have the consistency in performing week in week out.

Sho Rahman: A hat-trick of sitters missed by Paul Pogba today.

Andy White: Please can we have a miss of the season to go along with goal of the season. Paul Pogba and Diego Costa in the running up to now.
