    Dele Alli (37 mins)

Manchester City just can't cope with the intensity of Tottenham at the moment and the hosts double their lead. Erik Lamela nips in to win the ball back in a dangerous area before finding Dele Alli. He tries to find Son Heung-min, his pass is cut out but while the City defence stop and wait, Spurs switch back on and play it back to Alli, who sweeps under Claudio Bravo confidently.

    Tottenham 1-0 Manchester City

BBC Sport chief football writer at White Hart Lane

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been using a bit of tic-tac and sign language to get his team going - including making very clear diamond shapes with his hands to a couple of his midfielders.

Anthony: City really need De Bruyne's creative edge in this game.

Femi Oludele: Man City are so ordinary its disgraceful! Looking for soft penalties.

Tim Ferwood: City getting frustrated now that they are facing proper opponents! I predict a red this afternoon.

    Tottenham 1-0 Manchester City

The home crowd want a red card as Nicolas Otamendi makes another clumsy foul in midfield, he doesn't get a second booking but he must be skating on thin ice.

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

I didn't give enough credit to Oriol Romeu during that Jamie Vardy chance. He made a great tackle on Vardy and then blocked two follow-up shots, before celebrating like he'd scored a goal. Top class!

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

    Matt Elliott
Former Leicester City captain at Kingpower Stadium for BBC Radio Leicester

You wonder if it's one of those days for Leicester, although it's still early days. That was a gift presented to Jamie Vardy and you are waiting it to hit the back of the net. Vardy at his razor sharpest finishes that off. He's not too far away.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Tottenham 1-0 Manchester City

Victor Wanyama brings down Sergio Aguero and is booked for his trouble, Aguero then forces Hugo Lloris into a reasonably comfortable save from the set-piece. City definitely on top now though.

  8. CLOSE!published at 14:45 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

Don't undercook backpasses with Jamie Vardy around! Virgil van Dijk does just that and Vardy is in on goal. Goal time?

No, Fraser Forster does well to push him into traffic and he's tackled, with Islam Slimani's follow-up deflected wide.

    Leicester's best chance.

    Tottenham 1-0 Manchester City

Sergio Aguero has been kept pretty quiet by Tottenham so far but he does pull the trigger from a long way out, hits it well too but Hugo Lloris is always able to watch it bounce past the far post.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

Cedric Soares has succumbed to that injury and limps off, right boot in hand. On comes Cuco Martina - who scored that screamer last season.

    Tottenham 1-0 Manchester City

The energy and pressing from both teams, but particularly Spurs, is at a huge level so far. There are signs that Manchester City are coming back into the game though. They've certainly had more of the play in the last few minutes, as Raheem Sterling has a half sight of goal but can't squeeze a shot away.

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

    Matt Elliott
Former Leicester City captain at Kingpower Stadium for BBC Radio Leicester

Leicester are stringing a few passes now and changing the dynamic of the way they approach the game. The spark is not there for Leicester at the moment - the players and the supporters. Subconsciously it feels like after the Lord Mayor's show. They need to move up through the gears now.

Disjointed from the champions so far. They just haven't got going.

Jay: Otamendi should be off now. How did he not get carded for that handball?

Antonio: Anyone know why Otamendi wasn't carded for the hand ball?!

Ian Funnell: If Andre Mariner had done his job Otamendi would now be off. Poor refereeing

  15. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Tottenham 1-0 Manchester City

City want a penalty as their first attack in a while ends with Sergio Aguero on his back. Jan Vertonghen took a risk to dive in and make a challenge but he did get a toe to the ball. It's 100mph stuff as Son Heung-min then breaks past Pablo Zabaleta - but the flag was raised.

Southampton full-back Cedric Soares - top class at West Ham last week - landed awkwardly and has an issue with his right foot. He has had treatment but is continuing for now. He doesn't look comfortable though.

  17. CLOSE!published at 14:35 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Tottenham 1-0 Manchester City

Christian Eriksen sizes up the free-kick and hits it sweetly, nearly taking Dele Alli's head off on the side of the wall but the shot flies wide!

    Tottenham 1-0 Manchester City

Nicolas Otamendi is booked now though, bringing an end to Dele Alli's fine footwork 20 yards out with a chopping tackle. Free-kick in a very good area for Spurs.

  19. 'Southampton look purposeful'published at 14:33 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Leicester 0-0 Southampton

    Matt Elliott
Former Leicester City captain at Kingpower Stadium for BBC Radio Leicester

Southampton look much more composed here, and have played some nice football. They are happy on the ball, stroking it around and are playing with purpose. Leicester have been a little bit too direct. It's a contrast of styles.

  20. Postpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Tottenham 1-0 Manchester City

Nicolas Otamendi was very lucky not to be booked as well, he handballed a bouncing ball and Andre Marriner let him off. Strange decision.
