  1. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 89 mins

    Manchester United 1-1 Stoke

How has that stayed out?! Marcus Rashford takes the corner, presumably to the fury of many people online, and it's cleared. He then whips in another cross, unchallenged, and Paul Pogba thumps a header against the crossbar from a matter of yards.

  2. Postpublished at 88 mins

    Manchester United 1-1 Stoke

Stoke momentarily have a two-on-two break but Jon Walters and Peter Crouch are lacking in pace and the move dies. Marcus Rashford is certainly not and he then burns down the right to force a corner.

Charles Kahanji: De Gea must save that first ball. Weak hands.

Sonsofpunjab: That goal came from a poor clearance from Blind when he was under no pressure at all.

Richard: Joe Allen gets his reward for a man-of-the-match performance.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 85 mins

    Manchester United 1-1 Stoke

Can Stoke see this out? They are back helping out now, Jon Walters at left-back and not making a good job of it, poor clearance and Lee Grant has to make another great save to keep out a low Zlatan shot.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 83 mins

    Manchester United 1-1 Stoke

Jose Mourinho reacts by replacing Ander Herrera with Memphis Depay. Any late goals to come?

    Joe Allen

Well well well! Joe Allen scores for the second week in a row to bring Stoke level!

Glen Johnson shoots from the edge of the box, David de Gea fumbles it out and Jon Walters is onto it. His shot is palmed up onto the crossbar, the spin eludes the waiting Peter Crouch but Allen is there to thump into the open goal from a few yards out.

    Massive celebrations from Mark Hughes.

Anthony Diala: Another miscued assist from Wayne Rooney minutes after coming on as a sub. Sigh.

Jerry Elumeze: Is Rooney the master of miss kick goal assists?

Jay: That was all down to the skill of Rooney.

    Manchester United 1-0 Stoke

Manchester United are heading third as it stands, Stoke stay bottom. Anthony Martial runs at Ryan Shawcross, a total mismatch athletically, and Shawcross fouls the forward.

Joe Wedgwood: Wow, what an impact from Anthony Martial! This is a boy with a point to prove! United pressure relentless now!!

Saidmadrid: What a lovely goal from Martial. That's what you call a touch of class.

Paul Mcmenemy: Martial scores the same goal two years in a row against Stoke.

  11. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 77 mins

    Manchester United 1-0 Stoke

A shake of the head from Wilfried Bony - but nobody else - as the striker is replaced by Peter Crouch. Also off is Marko Arnautovic after a knock to his knee, so on comes Jon Walters.

    The old guard are on.

    Manchester United 1-0 Stoke

This could be a long, depressing 15 minutes for Stoke City and their fans. The crowd are suddenly vibrant, the Stoke defence is suddenly stretched, Manchester United suddenly look dangerous every time they get it.

  13. Postpublished at 72 mins

    Manchester United 1-0 Stoke

Already signs that that goal has deflated Stoke, as twice in a minute Manchester United walk past their defences. First Paul Pogba drives a cross along the six-yard line but there's nobody there, and then Zlatan Ibrahimovic tees up Daley Blind but his shot is well blocked behind.

  14. goal

GOAL - Manchester United 1-0 Stokepublished at 69 mins

    Anthony Martial

There's the breakthrough! And it is a substitute who gets it as Anthony Martial sweeps home his first goal of the season.

If you are being critical the fault starts with Xherdan Shaqiri, who gives the ball away cheaply in the centre circle twice in quick succession. United move downfield to Martial on the left, he plays it inside to Wayne Rooney. Rooney is tackled by Geoff Cameron but the American can only pass it inadvertently to Martial, who bends home powerfully. Brilliant hit.

  15. CLOSE!published at 68 mins

    Manchester United 0-0 Stoke

Stoke have men in numbers behind the ball, a wall of sky blue as Zlatan Ibrahimovic tries his luck form 22 yards on the angle. It's a crisp strike but always heading wide of Lee Grant's post.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 67 mins

    Manchester United 0-0 Stoke

Warm applause for Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial as they replace Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard. Can the England captain inspire a win here? Or will Stoke take at least a point?

  17. CLOSE!published at 66 mins

    Manchester United 0-0 Stoke

Zlatan Ibrahimovic juggles the ball on the edge of the area and rolls it to one side for Ander Herrera to attack, a crisp strike from the Spaniard but unlike at Northampton this one flies wide.

Referee Bobby Madley is frustrating the Old Trafford faithful as he gives another free-kick against Paul Pogba, the game is turning into a battle and Stoke are more than holding their own.

  20. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Manchester United 0-0 Stoke

Juan Mata shoots from a long way out, Lee Grant gets the long barrier behind it. A few groans from the fans. Does Jose Mourinho need to change this?
