Scoring goals has been a challenge for West Ham this season. The Hammers have 10 in the league, only six sides have fewer and four of them make up the bottom four.

    It has to improve.

In their defence they have been hindered by injuries which have left Simone Zaza running around like a headless chicken up top.

Fear not though, Andre Ayew - signed from Swansea in the summer - is fit again after getting injured in August.

"He's been training with the group for a couple of weeks now and came on and did really good against Chelsea," said manager Slaven Bilic. "He looked fit and aggressive, so it's great to have him back."

Ayew begins on the bench with Dimitri Payet loaded to play through the middle.

Idrissa Gueye seems to be the man making Everton tick this season.

The Senegal international played 35 times as Aston Villa were relegated last season but has been outstanding since moving to Goodison Park.

The midfielder has touched the ball 690 times in nine games, comfortably more than anyone else in the squad. His 544 passes puts him over 50 ahead of Gareth Barry as the clubs main conductor and he's been accurate too - completing 88%.

If that's not enough, he has battled it out in 130 duels, winning 80. Again, no Everton player has scrapped more.

  3. 'Offensive players need to do more'published at 13:21 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2016

Everton v West Ham (13:30 GMT)

Everton manager Ronald Koeman: "It's all about what happens on the pitch, to have that personality to win the game.

"We need to be more clinical. We need more productivity in front and that's not by one player. You need more scoring players. We need to improve. It's good to have a good goalscorer in your team, but other offensive players need to be more clinical.

"West Ham have changed their system to three centre backs and it's always difficult to play that system. They're strong physically and with some very good individual players like Dimitri Payet and you have to stop that."

The warm ups have just ended at Goodison Park and the players disappear up the narrow tunnel to get their final words of wisdom from Slaven Bilic - a former player here of course - and Ronald Koeman.

In a small development on the whole West Ham London Stadium issue, the Mail on Sunday carries a story with quotes, external from ex-Burnley chief executive Paul Fletcher, a man who advised on the planning of the stadium.

He says it will "continue to breed poor behaviour" and is "like a battleground for fans outside and inside".

Those ugly, ugly scenes at London Stadium when West Ham fans clashed violently with Chelsea-supporting counterparts cannot be wiped from memory unfortunately.

In the aftermath the club has issued a new five-point security plan for overseeing games at the former Olympic Stadium.

"It should be stopped from the beginning," said West Ham boss Slaven Bilic.

"We have those few countries who don't have it like England (and) Germany. "You are one of the few, an oasis, that is still very good and it's great when the media is a little bit overreacting, because it should be zero tolerance, there's no such thing as overreacting."

Ross Barkley has been the subject of a lot of Ronald Koeman chat recently. The England midfielder's displays have been questioned consistently and his manager has had to repeatedly talk about the subject.

Interestingly, ahead of today's game Barkley has created 21 chances for the Toffees, that's more than anyone else in their squad, Romelu Lukaku has 17.

Ramiro Funes Mori comes into the Everton side instead of Phil Jagielka as Ronald Koeman makes one change to the side which was beaten by Burnley last weekend.

Everton XI: Robles, Coleman, Ashley Williams, Funes Mori, Oviedo, Gana, Barry, Barkley, Mirallas, Lukaku, Bolasie.

It's all roads leading to Goodison Park from here on in. I'll go bold with a prediction... 2-1 Everton.

    Sunderland 1-4 Arsenal

    Guy Mowbray
Match of the Day commentator on MOTD Extra

I think there’a a lack of interest from the top at Sunderland. I haven’t seen the owner at one game this season on any of the footage.

I don’t know what going on business wise, but it feels like Sunderland are just drifting.

  15. Sunderland players 'must take responsibility'published at 12:57 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2016

[The managers Sunderland have had] aren’t all bad. Which is why I think they’ll keep Moyes.

I think they are realising they can’t keep on making the manager the ultimate scapegoat. You can’t go on keep changing the manager, at some point the players have to take responsibility.

Just before we move on to Everton v West Ham exclusively, it would be wrong of me to not use a number of tweets we have received on David Moyes.

Damien Chaney: Sunderland being flirting with relegation for the last few years. Same players different managers. Championship awaits.

Paddy Bolger: Sunderland will definitely go down this season, nobody can save them this time.

#EveryoneOut: Soon there will be nowhere fr the buffoon #moyes, external to hide, apart from the backwater of Scottish football.

  17. 'Rooney would be a spark' for Evertonpublished at 12:48 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2016

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Everton and Sunderland winger and MOTD2 pundit

I would take him back to Everton, absolutely - I think he’d be a great fit. I think the Everton fans would take to him. But financially it would be a struggle.

I think he would definitely be a spark for that team.

  18. Rooney isn't good enough for Evertonpublished at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2016

    Andy Dunn
Sunday Mirror sports columnist on MOTD Extra

Rooney should not be an option for Everton.

They want to be amongst the Arsenals, Liverpools, Citys, Uniteds. If he isn’t good enough for United, why should he be good enough for Everton?

The wage scale would be shattered, it would be fraught with problems.

Even if Rooney took half his salary at United, he would be on more than anyone else – people like Lukaku would be saying ‘hang on’.

  19. Time for Zlat to hit the bench?published at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2016

    Rooney's chance...

One point worth making, all this Wayne Rooney to Everton chat stems from him being a substitute at Manchester United. Should he be?

    Zlatan IbrahimovicImage source, .

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is shooting on sight and largely finding the stands. He had 12 shots as Burnley left Old Trafford with a goalless draw.

Does he need to be dropped? That's 10 league outings and he has not been taken off once. Zlatan simply will not be moved.

  20. Everton Roo-turnpublished at 12:43 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2016

You may recall this headline from Friday as Ronald Koeman at Everton did not shoot down some chat about Wayne Rooney returning to Everton.

Kevin Kilbane has just been vocal on the matter, that's coming next...
