    Paul Pogba

Now that is a cracker! Wayne Rooney runs past a man to win the ball back on the right wing, he finds Jesse Lingard on the edge of the area, who tees up Paul Pogba who is running on to the ball 20 yards from goal.

He cracks it home first time, a sweeping, curling strike into the top corner. Sensational.

A flurry of activity brings Manchester United two penalties, two goals and two scorers.

What was interesting though was how many people wanted to capture the image on their phones rather than be content with seeing Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial score.

It is a point Gary Neville made at Anfield on Monday. The behaviour of supporters is changing.

Revolving penalty takers, applauding an opponent taking corners (Robin van Persie) - is this a testimonial?

Yeah, how many more penalties would United have to get before Wayne Rooney got the ball?

James Purkis: So now Rooney is third choice penalty taker, for United's reserves. That's about right.

Kenny Kong: Is Rooney's confidence so low that he isn't taking penalties? Strange choices for #mufc , not that they are fighting over it

Joe Wedgwood: Let there be no mistake, penalty aside this is ANOTHER selfish, poor performance from @paulpogba so far

David de Gea has been a virtual spectator all game but Michael Carrick loses the ball and brings the Spaniard into play. Fener switch the ball out to the left, Souza steps inside a lunge and gets off a low shot which De Gea turns away.

Nathan: Can we clone Carrick and keep him forever? Unthinkable that lvg was going to get get rid!

Matthew Harris: Sick of United's dominance not translating into goals, Fenerbahce take matters into their own hands.

Peter Malath: Two penalties, two French connections in succession. Thanks to Spanish magician involvement.

Right in the exact same part of the net as Paul Pogba's penalty! Anthony Martial steps up and slams the spot kick home. Game over already? It's barely begun.

Crazy stuff in the Fenebahce back line. Anthony Martial is in on goal this time and he's bundled over by Sener Ozbayrakli. Great ball from Juan Mata.

Take some style points off for the stuttering, high-kneed run up in the style of Simone Zaza, but that's a top penalty from Paul Pogba. Swept low and hard into the corner.

  14. PENALTY FOR MAN UTDpublished at 29 mins

    Manchester United 0-0 Fenerbahce

Michael Carrick finds Juan Mata over the top with a great ball, Mata turns his man and Simon Kjaer can only bundle him to the ground. Penalty!

The Old Trafford crowd have had plenty of experience of being bored in recent times and there's a few jeers as they take an age to pass it out of their back four. Paul Pogba then picks out a great ball to find Matteo Darmian but his cross is poor.

It has not been the greatest game so far.

Both managers are in their technical area in their big coats.

Mourinho (black, no hood) has his hands in his pockets. Advocaat (blue, hood) has his behind his back.

They last met in May 2015, at Stamford Bridge, when they were in charge of Chelsea and Sunderland. Chelsea won 3-1.

Juan Mata bends in a cracking cross from the right with his left foot, the keeper can't come for it, it's perfectly angled and Anthony Martial meets it but heads wide.

  18. 'We deserved it most'published at 20:29 British Summer Time 20 October 2016

    Inter Milan 1-0 Southampton

    Southampton

Southampton captain Virgil van Dijk: "It is very tough. We were the team that deserved it most. You can see the goal was their only chance and it is frustrating, we should have buried the game in the first half.

"There was only one team who deserved to win but in the end that is football.

"I am a winner. I want to win and when you see things not go well it was frustrating. I had a big chance and was unlucky and as well with the header but we should have finished the game in the first half.

"We had so many opportunities to win the game but now we need to move on, recover well and be ready for Man City."

On Inter Milan's goal: "We should have stopped the cross. There was a lot of movement. We were a bit unlucky and it was their only chance and to concede is tough."

Wayne Rooney is nominally playing as a central striker again tonight but he's still coming deep for the ball at times.

I'd like to see the TV cameras overlay a 'ghost' video of Rooney in 2004 on the screen, see the difference in his movement.

Manchester United seeing all of the ball, with Michael Carrick ticking the play along nicely in midfield. The cameras pick out Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the stands. What's going on with him? A mystery man.
