Best chance for Spain so far as David Silva gets a shot off, but Tom Heaton does well to deflect it behind.

The visitors make a change and Manchester United's Ander Herrera, at the age of 27, makes his Spain debut. He replaces Thiago.

    Northern Ireland 0-2 Croatia

Haha! Croatia players whisper to each other as they plot a route to goal from the indirect free-kick, then Marcelo Brozovic balloons the ball over the bar. And the stand behind the net. If that was a rugby conversion it would be perfect.

  6. CLOSE!published at 21:11 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2016

    England 2-0 Spain

    It should be 3-0!

England's pace on the counter has Spain on the ropes as they charge forward again. This time Theo Walcott's shot is parried by Pepe Reina and Jordan Henderson sweeps the rebound wide.

Excellent stuff from England at the moment.

    Northern Ireland 0-2 Croatia

Don't see this very often these days! Northern Ireland are penalised for a backpass when Alan Mannus picks up a Jonny Evans header. Croatia plant the ball down just in front of the penalty spot. A wall of green shirts lines up on the goal line...

England have started this half like they did the first - pressing the Spain defence and attacking with pace - and they are rewarded with a second.

It's a great goal as Jordan Henderson crosses towards the far post where Jamie Vardy dives in to send a bullet header into the back of the net, ending his 14-game goal drought.

They top it off with a superb celebration, doing the 'mannequin challenge'. Love it.

  10. CLOSE!published at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2016

    England 1-0 Spain

England are straight on the attack as a good move ends with Theo Walcott's shot from inside the box being deflected into the sidenetting. Pepe Reina catches the corner.

There were a couple of changes at the restart with Burnley keeper Tom Heaton coming on for Joe Hart and Phil Jagielka replacing Gary Cahill in defence.

Since the penalty it has been a little bit dull. Spain have dominated possession and kept the ball. It has not been particularly energetic. It has died off. England have done ok but neither keeper has had much to do.
