James Bland: An extremely poor keeper and an ageing/inexperienced defence.a midfield that's mostly past it.yet he benches his best player ? another managerial master stroke from pep

Mali Mangapi: Poor performance for sometimes. Aguero is declining very fast. Save him right to be on the bench.

Krish Sha: Where is Gabriel Jesus and surely he shud be starting as striker in place of Aguero

Ouch! George Boyd feels the full force of a Jesus Navas blast from yards away. On a cold day, that's got to hurt. Made of strong stuff, though, Boyd. Shrugs it off.

Meanwhile, Burnley have weathered a bit of early Manchester City pressure. In fact, they have a free-kick now just outside the box...

  6. CLOSE!published at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2017

    Sunderland 0-0 Liverpool

Sunderland have not won a league game when Jack Rodwell has started. Yet the former Everton man has gone ever so close to giving his side the lead with a powerful low effort which forced a fine save from Simon Mignolet. Encouraging signs for David Moyes.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2017

    Everton 0-0 Southampton

Oh this is a blow for Everton's teenage forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The 18-year-old made his first start for the Toffees against Southampton but has to go off barely 15 minutes into the game with an ankle injury. On comes Kevin Mirallas in his place.

    West Brom 0-0 Hull

Hull need a win and they have started well at The Hawthorns. Mike Phelan's side have forced three corners in the first 10 minutes, while Adama Diomande has flashed a shot wide.

    Everton 0-0 Southampton

Cedric Soares has to go off after that awkward tumble into the advertising boards so on comes 22-year-old defender Jack Stephens for his Premier League debut. There's not been any other chances after that early Ross Barkley effort, but how will this forced change impact the visitors?

    Sunderland 0-0 Liverpool

First shot in anger and the Stadium of Light - and it's come from Sunderland's Jermain Defoe who tests Simon Mignolet from distance.

Liverpool respond quickly as Daniel Sturridge forces a fine save from Vito Mannone before the Black Cats keeper does well to keep oout an effort from Georginio Wijnaldum.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January 2017

    Man City 0-0 Burnley

Fantastic double save by Tom Heaton denies Manchester City, and spares his team-mate Ben Mee's blushes.

Mee gave the ball on the edge of his own area and City charged forward through Kelechi Iheanacho. The striker tried to round Heaton but the keeper plucked the ball away from his feet before then denying Raheem Sterling after City picked up the loose ball.

    Good start by the hosts.

    Sunderland 0-0 Liverpool

It's all Liverpool and Sunderland are fortunate to escape as Sebastian Larsson clearly pulls Nathaniel Clyne's shirt as the Liverpool player bursts into the penalty area.

    Everton 0-0 Southampton

Southampton are currently down to 10 men after Cedric Soares suffered a bizarre injury. He slid off the pitch when challenging for the ball and into the advertising boards, hitting them awkwardly. Everton almost make the man advantage count as Ros Barkley shoots, but his effort is straight at Fraser Forster.

    Man City 0-0 Burnley

Lee Mason didn't make any friends in the red half of Manchester after ruling out Zlatan Ibrahimovic's strike against Middlesbrough at the weekend. He's the man in the middle at the Etihad and has got right into the thick of things... by getting in the way of Manchester City players as they try to build an attack.

Shane Daly: Wonder where Man City would be if Pellegrini was still in charge? Doing a lot better I would predict.

LFCWay: Another must-win game. Don't care how, need three points. Big game for Daniel Sturridge to show Jurgen Klopp he deserves a run in the team.

Matt Roberts: If we can't beat Sunderland then we have no right to win a title
