    Man Utd 2-1 West Ham

Wayne Rooney, who is bossing this game, is barged over 30-yards out by West Ham defender Winston Reid.

Is this the Manchester United skipper's moment...?

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2016

    Man Utd 2-1 West Ham

More injury problems for Slaven Bilic.

Michail Antonio cannot continue and limps off, Argentine Manuel Lanzini enters the action.

It looks like a groin problem for Antonio.

  3. CLOSE!published at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2016

    Man Utd 2-1 West Ham

Sniffing a second, Anthony Martial is played through on goal by a lovely Wayne Rooney pass, but the Frenchman's left-footed strike is straight at Adrian.

Minutes ticking away at the Emirates Stadium and Arsenal showing little signs that they can get back into this contest.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is on, but is yet to make an impact on the game.

I've been singing Wayne Rooney's praises because some of the things he has done tonight have been brilliant. But that's just stupidity. He gives away a simple free-kick and the tantrum he throws after warrants a yellow card.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:12 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2016

    Man Utd 2-1 West Ham

A yellow card of BIG significance.

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is booked for a trip, which means he will MISS the Premier League against Everton on Sunday.

Stuck on 248 club goals, he would have loved to have broken the Sir Bobby Charlton's 249 record against his old club.

Won't be happening at Goodison Park.

I'm surprised Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain didn't come on at half-time, especially considering how bad Arsenal were in the first half.

Absolute top-class finish. We expected Manchester United to come out fast in the second half and they have done that. Perfect start - as it was in the first half.

Manchester United look fragile when they haven't got a two-goal cushion, so the next five to 10 minutes will be interesting. West Ham will have to steady the ship a little and try and hit them later on the game.

GOAL - Man Utd 2-1 West Hampublished at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2016

    Anthony Martial (47 mins)

Similar to the first half, Manchester United start off well in the second.

It is further slick football from the home side. West Ham fail to clear their lines and Antonio Valencia's backheel sets Henrikh Mkhitaryan away.

It's two assists for the Armenian, who keeps his cool to lay off Anthony Martial, as the Frenchman finishes with aplomb past Adrian.

"Tony Martial came from France, the English press said he has no chance," sing the Stretford End faithful.

An hour gone at the Emirates Stadium, Southampton are not looking in too much trouble at the moment. Can Arsenal save the tie? It is going to take a monumental effort for them to turn it around.

Wherever Jose Mourinho is watching tonight's game, he is not on public view.

His office? The home dressing room? An executive box?

Wherever it is, it will have a TV and a phone.

Almost a third for Southampton, but Sofiane Boufal's goalbound strike deflects off Gunners defender Rob Holding and away from danger.

That would have been game over.

Slaven Bilic will be thrilled with the way his side have finished the first half - and that they are level at the break.

Manchester United came out of the traps and were excellent for 15/20 minutes. But the problem is they don't get the second goal to give themselves a comfort zone.

West Ham have players capable of creating and scoring goals - and Manchester United paid the price.

Not sure how serious this is, but I missed it at the time.

Midfielder Mohamed Elneny hobbled off just before half time, with Switzerland international Granit Xhaka taking his place.

We will find out after the match how serious the problem is for the Egyptian.

  20. Not good business for Unitedpublished at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 30 November 2016

    Simon Stone

Ashley Fletcher gained a distinction on a business studies course whilst he was still at Manchester United.

You probably don't need one of them to know it is not a great deal to let a player who has been with you from the age of 12 to leave, and for him then to come back and score against you.

Fletcher never made a senior appearance for United. But his superb performances in Barnsley's League One promotion surge at the end of last season persuaded Slaven Bilic to take a punt on the 21-year-old.

What a day to get your first goal for your new club.
