Brentford almost pull a goal back at Carrow Road before half-time, but John Egan volleys straight at City stopper John Ruddy.

The Bees are looking at a fourth consecutive defeat unless they can turn things around.

    Cardiff 0-0 Brighton

A rare chance at Cardiff, as Brighton's Jamie Murphy has a shot blocked by Sol Bamba.

Neither keeper has really been tested properly.

Then Albion's Jiri Skalak flashes a shot wide of the post after regathering a free-kick which hit the wall.

It looks like the two sides will head into the break level.

League Two side Luton Town are in deep, deep trouble in the FA Cup second round - now trailing National League outfit Solihull Moors 2-0. You can follow the link at the top of this page for live text commentary.

And, speaking of League Two, Doncaster are 3-0 up at Stevenage and Yeovil 2-0 ahead against Crawley in the day's only two matches in the fourth tier.

Wigan midfielder Max Power tested former England goalkeeper Scott Carson from distance, but the Derby man gets down to his right to save.

    Blackburn 1-1 Huddersfield

Danny Graham equalises for Blackburn from the penalty spot after Michael Hefele bundles over Sam Gallagher.

That was Rovers' first shot on target this afternoon.

We've had quite a few penalties today - three already. These Championship defenders need to be more careful.

For reference, here's how Lee Tomlin's spot kick at Ashton Gate a few moments ago looked...

    Cardiff 0-0 Brighton

It's gone a bit stale at the Cardiff City Stadium between the Bluebirds and Brighton.

Brighton are aiming to make it 13 Championship games unbeaten, but not much has happened.

    Chances are very much limited.

Bristol City go ahead from the penalty spot through Lee Tomlin after on-loan striker Tammy Abraham was brought down by Ipswich keeper Bartosz Bialkowski.

Could this be the end of their three-game losing streak?

Wigan come close to an instant reply against Derby through two Jordi Gomez corners.

The first is scrambled away and then Craig Morgan heads the second over the bar.

Moments later the Latics almost went two goals behind as Johnny Russell rounds Jussi Jaaskelainen but sees his effort come back off the post.

Derby County's rise under Steve McClaren seems to be continuing apace - midfielder Bradley Johnson's header from Tom Ince's free-kick delivery has put the Rams 1-0 up against Wigan.

Elsewhere in the second tier, Jackson Irvine has slotted Burton ahead against bottom side Rotherham and Fulham have gone ahead against high-flying Reading thanks to a Chris Gunter own goal.

It sounds like a bit of a shocker too.

As Cardiff search for the opening goal against Brighton, it may not only be their own players to whom they turn for inspiration.

When Brighton centre-back Shane Duffy was here in August as a Blackburn player, he scored two own goals and was sent off to gift Cardiff a 2-1 win.

That means he is still Cardiff's joint-fourth top scorer this season. How Neil Warnock's relegation-threatened side could do with another helping hand today.

Norwich double their lead against Brentford after Harlee Dean fouled Jacob Murphy in the box.

Graham Dorrans sees his initial effort saved by Daniel Bentley but tucks in the rebound from close range to make it 2-0.

Moments before Alex Pritchard had been denied by Bentley.

It's all Norwich and a case of "pressure, what pressure?" for Canaries boss Alex Neil.

    Cardiff 0-0 Brighton

Brighton were second best in the opening exchanges at Cardiff.

First Aron Gunnarsson beats two men before curling a shot towards goal, which was saved by David Stockdale

Then Peter Whittingham sent a shot over just over the bar from the edge of the box.

Brighton have rallied and Sam Baldock almost set up a chance for Glenn Murray but he couldn't find his strike partner.

    Blackburn 0-1 Huddersfield

Blackburn, superb in beating leaders Newcastle a week ago, are playing Huddersfield, who are slipping down the Championship table like nobody's business, at Ewood Park today.

Only one result then? Think again - Kasey Palmer's header from eight yards out has given the Terriers a 1-0 advantage.

    Norwich 1-0 Brentford

And, as if by magic, there it comes.

Norwich, who have lost their last five games, take the lead at home against Brentford.

Robbie Brady puts in a deep cross and it ends up in the visitors' net.

Jacob Murphy is claiming it but the final touch may have come off Bees defender John Egan.
