  1. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 11 mins

    Everton 0-0 Man City

Really good tempo to this game.

Everton's desire to press high also leaves them vulnerable to the counter and so it proves as Kevin de Bruyne charges off down the left. He crosses, Leighton Baines misses his clearance but then finds himself ideally placed to hack away just as Raheem Sterling rounded Joel Robles and seemed set to score.

Sterling is fuming though, he thinks Baines handles and replays do show the ball touching his hand. Nothing given.

The systems are intriguing today. Manchester City continue to go with the diamond, but Everton have gone with a back three, with Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines acting as wing-backs.

    Everton 0-0 Man City

Everton have the ball in the back of the net! Seamus Coleman squares a pass for Kevin Mirallas who taps in from close range. The flag is up, though. Coleman was offside when he latched onto Romelu Lukaku's pass. Still, Everton looking dangerous going forward. Plenty of numbers up in attack.

    Everton 0-0 Man City

Pretty even stuff so far, with no real chances of note. It's been raining for most of the day and Tom Davies perhaps misjudges just how slippy the pitch is as he slides in on Raheem Sterling, taking the Manchester City forward's legs.

Risky by Mason Holgate. He hits a pass back to Joel Robles but it lacks power and Sergio Aguero sniffs an opportunity to intercept it. Robles is alert to the danger, racing off his line to hoof clear.

    Everton 0-0 Man City

Early bit of pressure from Everton as Gareth Barry gets above David Silva to nod the ball forward for Kevin Mirallas but Nicolas Otamendi is well placed to hold off the Everton forward and clear the danger.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has explained why Morgan Schneiderlin is not starting today.

“Everyone knows he will be a key player, he will show that," he said.

"In two sessions, we've seen his quality. It’s always difficult. His first session was Friday and that was the reason not to start him."

Fancy being a rogue like Morgan Schneiderlin? You too can get your Schneiderlin no.2 shirt down at the club shop at Goodison Park.

Manchester City are probably relieved to see that Maarten Stekelenburg is not in goal for Everton today. He saved two penalties against City back in October, but is only fit enough for a place on the bench.

    • Manchester City are unbeaten in their last seven matches against Everton and have won on two of their last three visits to Goodison Park.
    • Three of Everton's last five goals against City in the Premier League have been scored by Romelu Lukaku.
    • City missed two penalties against Everton in October, with both spot kicks conceded by Phil Jagielka and saved by Maarten Stekelenburg.

Everton v Man City (13:30 GMT)

Everton winger Yannick Bolasie, speaking on BBC Radio 5 live, about Ross Barkley: "Everyone is comparing him to Deli Alli. That takes its toll. They play in almost identical positions and Deli is scoring goal after goal. Ability wise, Ross can play for any team in the Premier League."

Goodison Park will be rocking because it is Manchester City, and because Everton are signing some players. I am not sure the feel-good factor will be enough for them, though. Prediction: 1-2
