For much of the warm-up tonight, I was watching Mbappe practice his rabonas and that sums up the youthfulness of the man.

Half an hour gone, Gareth Southgate will be largely pleased with what he has seen I would reckon. Disappointed to concede from a set-piece though.

England keeper Tom Heaton was unlucky there. It was a fine save from Olivier Giroud's header but the ball fell perfectly for Samuel Umtiti.

Olivier Giroud gets a hard time from the French press and some Arsenal support, but he's got 27 goals for his country and that was a cracking header.

Hugo Lloris gets ironic cheers for playing the ball out safely. His mistake with his feet cost France on Friday remember.

It's a good ball in but where are the England defenders? It's a great initial reaction save from Heaton but there were two free French players waiting for the rebound there.

You don't expect England to give set pieces away like that. Terrible goal to give away.

You can't help but get excited by Kylian Mbappe. He holds the ball up on the right wing, lays it off and seconds later is in the penalty area on the left-hand side. He stands up the England defence with some nifty footwork but the cross eventually is deflected away.

Benjamin Mendy is then sent careering into the advertising boards.

Should score! England are caught short on the break and that's the brilliance of Kylian Mbappe, the Thierry Henry clone bursts clear on the left and plays in Ousmane Dembele with a dream of a pass with the outside of his foot.

Dembele has to hit it first time and does - but he slices well wide.

The back three of England has started well but it evaporated there.

What a finish that is! It won't count, Olivier Giroud is a smidge offside, but he takes the ball on his chest before firing a shot past Tom Heaton and into the top corner. Sensational play. He's not happy, thinks he's onside, but it doesn't get referred to the video ref.

We know Raheem Sterling has pace and ability but sometimes the game passes him by.

However, that was a great backheel and we want to see more of that play from him.

With France playing 4-4-2, they can't get close to England. They are getting very little joy here.
