A man in full military uniform is now playing Don't Look Back In Anger on electric guitar, backed by a brass band. Think FA Cup final.

It's a surreal moment but it's going down a storm with the crowd.

    'Sooo Sallly can waitt....'

Antoine Griezmann has signed a new contract at Alteico Madrid but it's quite clever - he is a bit of a tease but he is a clever tease because the release clause on his new contract is the same as it was before.

    France v England (20:00 BST)

Gareth Southgate on ITV: "I want to see more composure and patience tonight, quicker ball circulation. We need more quality in the final third.

"John Stones plays in a back three, we need composure at the back. We need to build from defence, the system gives us options.

"Both teams have young sides out. It is a great challenge and we want to make a statement with the way we play. We played really well against Spain and Germany but didn't win and we need to turn that promise into results."

The music at the Stade de France is loud. Massive volume. It's so loud that Ian Wright can't be heard on the TV.

This could be the best version of Don't Look Back In Anger in 20 years.

The Oasis song Don't Look Back in Anger will be played before tonight's game as the French pay their respects to those killed in the recent attacks in London and Manchester.

Fans will hold up red and white placards to form the England flag as the song is played just before the players emerge from the tunnel.

Both teams will wear black armbands and a minute's silence will also be observed prior to the match.

Prime Minister Theresa May was due to meet French President Emmanuel Macron for talks earlier on today, and both are expected to attend the match at the Stade de France.

Though she was in the Commons at gone 15:00 BST. So we shall see. The Eurostar is very quick isn't it?

Tonight will be the first senior England fixture with a video assistant referee.

The use of VARs is being trialled by world governing body Fifa and could feature in next year's World Cup.

Italian Davide Massa will referee the match, with two conventional assistant referees plus compatriots Marco Guida and Massimiliano Irrati providing television support.

GOAL?! The VARs would not have cleared this one up either...

The VARs can be used to review the following:

    • Goals where there may have been a violation or offside missed during the build-up
    • Penalty decisions
    • Red cards
    • Mistaken identity

Massa will officiate as normal but there will be recourse to utilise technology, initiated either by the VAR or by the referee, who can call for a review process by outlining a square with his hands.

What a great effort it was from the England Under-20s over the weekend. Superb.

The important thing is not to get too carried away and imagine it necessarily kicking on through the age groups.

Not all of the England Under-20 World Cup winning side will break through but you have to hope that in two or three years time, four, five, maybe six of them will be good enough to play for the senior squad.

Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe didn't play for the U-21's - they were already ready to make the jump to the first team. They were good enough to go straight to the senior team so it all depends on the maturity of the player.
