That was England's first attack of note, and it was super slick. I thought in the friendly in Germany that they looked a much better side when playing this system, and they look good on the ball again so far.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gives it away softly again though. England fans in good voice.

What an excellent goal. Great backheel from Sterling and a simple tap in for Harry Kane.

    Really good goal!

    Harry Kane

    What a good goal!

Eric Dier intercepts the ball in midfield, Dele Alli picks out Raheem Sterling in the area, he backheels superbly into the path of Ryan Bertrand charging up from left wing-back, and he slides a perfect ball across for man of the moment Harry Kane to convert from six yards out.

Kane has 27 goals in 24 games in 2017. Wow.

Another errant pass from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has not made the best start in that role. He started in central midfield for England at Wembley recently. And as we touched on before, there are not many other options there for Gareth Southgate.

I know it's early but France haven't really got started yet.

It's a good tempo at the moment but the passing hasn't been very accurate so far.

    France 0-0 England

Poor ball from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who gives it away under no pressure in the centre-circle. Got to keep the ball better than that if you want to play in a midfield two. He and Eric Dier are directly up against Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kante. A tough ask.

Phil Jones has started very well on the right of the back three.

    France 0-0 England

A move forged in Monaco as Benjamin Mendy, Thomas Lemar and Kylian Mbappe link up down the left wing before Mbappe is played in behind the defence - he's flagged offside.

Good ball over the top from Paul Pogba mind.

It's a first start for Tom Heaton tonight.

England looking good on the ball in the first few minutes, I think this shape suits them better.

England look like they have started very well. They are really getting in their faces and playing at a high tempo.

Tom Heaton will be very nervous making his debut here though...

    France 0-0 England

I mentioned earlier that playing Dele Alli in a midfield two won't get the best out of him - so England are not doing that.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is instead the man in the middle alongside Eric Dier. Logical now I've seen it.

A definite back three though, with Harry Kane flanked by Alli and Raheem Sterling.

Thomas Lemar miscues a cross and almost scores, Tom Heaton has to scrabble across and make a save!

I am looking forward to this, there is a lot of talent on show tonight.

Two very young teams and you expect both teams to really go for it. Should be a good game.

Players from both sides now line the centre-circle, alternating French-English-French-English etc, for a minute's silence.

Both nations have been hit by terror attacks in the last 18 months or so of course.

And the whole stadium now sing 'God Save The Queen' as well. Still nobody can keep in time, but it's a lovely touch and a cracking atmosphere inside the stadium.

After all that, it's a bit of a shame that we have to have an international friendly really.

A nice sight of England fans applauding the France national anthem - which is as ear-bursting as ever in the Stade de France.

    A terrific anthem.

Theresa May has taken her seat in time. A busy day for her, as French fans now make up a mosaic of the St George's Cross behind the goal.

    Julien Laurens
French football expert on BBC Radio 5 live

Didier Deschamps has warned the players already, if you want to go to the World Cup, make sure you play a lot of football at club level.

The opinion of N'Golo Kante has changed a bit in France - when he was at Leicester City he was not so interesting. But last season he has been a bit of a surprise to the French fans too. It all of a sudden a case of when he will play for the national team.

Tonight is very important for him. It is his opportunity to prove he can be a vital part of this team.

He was closer to the truth than he realised.
