England 2-2 Germany (3-4 on pens)
England showed some glimpses of real promise as a team, but after Germany equalised the momentum swung their way. They might have won it in normal time, they might have won it as the game went to 120 minutes, but in the end spot-kicks decided it.
Germany make it through to Friday's final in Krakow. Spain take on Italy in the other semi-final.

George, I like those odds.

Robin Clifford: Always good to get practice loosing to the Germans on penalties, will see them well when they're in the Seniors!
Adam: Great effort by the England lads today and at this tournament. The future is bright!
George Biggs: Literally rather flip a coin than try to beat Germany on penalties at this point.

Terry Butcher
Ex-England captain in Tychy for 5 live sports extra
I feel sorry for Nathan Redmond. It was a comfortable save. What a way to lose the game. What a heroic effort from all these England players. They matched Germany - the application and spirit has been magnificent throughout this competition.
England 2-2 Germany (3-4 on pens)
So, so gutting for England.
They lose to Germany. On penalties. Again.
Nathan Redmond for England
Saved by the keeper! A big pair of gloves beats it away. It was central from Redmond...
England have to score...
Nadiem Amiri for Germany
Pickford gets a hand to it but not enough. Amiri wheels away with his finger to his lips.
James Ward-Prowse for England
Ward-Prowse drives it in, high and away from the keeper who again dived the wrong way. Pollersbeck has been looking at notes hidden in his sock.
Max Meyer for Germany
Pickford goes the wrong way this time. Meyer drives it home.
Ben Chilwell for England
See ya later keeps. Chilwell sends him the wrong way, left foot right int the corner.
Max Philipp for Germany
Philipp finds the net - high above Pickford's gloves, good pen. The keeper wasn't getting there.
Tammy Abraham for England
That is poor. Weak. Abraham dribbles his effort to Pollersbeck's right.
Yannick Gerhardt for Germany
Great save from Pickford! Diving to his right he fists it away.
Lewis Baker for England
Nicely done, gave the keeper the eyes, sent him the wrong way, into the corner.
Max Arnold for Germany
Blasted straight down the middle. Pickford went to his right.
England 2-2 Germany
It'll be Germany to take first. Max Arnold has the ball in his hands.
Here we go...
England 2-2 Germany
Fine words from Mr Butcher.
England just need to think about Stuart Pearce.
No, not 1990 Pearce, 1996 Pearce.
