  2. Scots 'have to be patient'published at 17:00 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

    Scotland v Portugal (17:00 BST)

Scotland head coach Anna Signeul tells BBC Radio Scotland: "We've been waiting three days for this now. We have a chance to rectify things, to show we are better than we were against England. They (Portugal) play with a diamond so we want to push forward in the wide areas.

"It feels very, very good. No-one can afford to lose an early goal but we want to attack. We are in for an attack-minded set-up, even if we play 4-1-4-1. We have to be patient. They will slow it down and take time at set pieces and throw-ins. They probably don't want to play a high-intensity game."

  3. Flower of Scotlandpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

    Scotland v Portugal (17:00 BST)

Arms linked together on their shoulders, wearing their dark tracksuits, the Scottish players sing out Flower of Scotland.

There are a fair number of flags in the stands too, with the Saltire being proudly waved from side to side.

The atmosphere is building and kick-off is coming up in just a moment.

  5. Coming up laterpublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

    England v Scotland (19:45 BST)

In contrast to the mood in the Scotland and Portugal camps, it wasn't a bad start to the Euros for England, was it?

A 6-0 win got Mark Sampson's side off to a real flyer, but they face an altogether different challenge against Spain tonight from 19:45 BST.

We'll have live text and radio coverage of that game following the conclusion of Scotland v Portugal.

  6. How good are Portugal?published at 16:53 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

    Scotland v Portugal (17:00 BST)

Ranked 38th in the Fifa Women's World Rankings - 17 places below Scotland - Portugal are the underdogs for this game.

They lost their opening match 2-0 to Spain on Wednesday so, like the Scots, they can't afford to lose this evening.

Chelsea Ladies fans will be familiar with Portugal's versatile right-back Ana Borges, who played for the Blues until leaving earlier this year.

Scotland - who reached this tournament with an impressive seven wins from eight in qualifying - were extremely unfortunate with injuries in the build-up.

Prior to losing striker Jane Ross to a shoulder injury this week, star Arsenal Ladies midfielder Kim Little was among the significant pre-tournament losses to serious injuries.

Manchester City centre-back Jen Beattie is also missing these finals through injury.

  9. Can Scotland bounce back?published at 16:44 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

    Scotland v Portugal (17:00 BST)

Tonight's game is crucial for the Scots, because a defeat would leave their fate out of their own hands.

Should they lose this afternoon, a draw between England and Spain later tonight would eliminate Anna Signeul's side.

But Scotland's Vaila Barsley says the team have "the ability to bounce back" from their crushing loss to England and still qualify from their group.

This afternoon's game in Rotterdam is in the 10,599-capacity Stadium SpartaHet Kasteel.

It's the home of men's club Sparta Rotterdam and has a castle-like building backing onto one of the stands.

Scotland will hope they've strengthened their own defences in training since conceding six goals last time out.

Scotland are in their first ever major women's international tournament, but it's fair to say their debut didn't go too well.

But can they still qualify for the knockout stages?

England boss Mark Sampson has said he believes so, but what do you think?

Scotland make three changes from their 6-0 loss to England in their opening game.

Manchester City striker Jane Ross picked up a shoulder injury in that defeat, so misses out.

In all, Kirsty Smith, Rachel McLauchlan & Lana Clelland come in, for Ross, Chloe Arthur & Frankie Brown.

Scotland XI: Fay; Barsley, Dieke, Weir, Crichton, Evans, Corsie, McLaughlan, Clelland, Smith, Brown.

We'll have live coverage of both games right here, starting with some Scotland team news.
