"So what we going dressed up as on Lisa's hen do?." "I know, subbuteo players!"

A little bit of class from the Wootton Bassett Ladies players, who will take in the England v Spain game this evening as part of an epic weekend in Amsterdam before Lisa gets married to Jon next Friday.

Special word for Steve (right), the "token bloke" who was obviously keeping his cool by not getting kitted out!

  4. Spain team newspublished at 19:18 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

    England v Spain (19:45 BST)

Spain make one change to the team which beat Portugal in their opening game. Former Arsenal player Marta Corredera replaces Mariona Caldentey on the right of midfield in a 3-5-2 formation.

Vicky Losada is another starter to have previously played for the Gunners. Menwhile, there are six Barcelona players in Jorge Vilda's line-up.

One of those half-dozen, Alexia Putellas, is worth looking out for. She came off the bench to turn the game Spain's way in the 3-2 win against England four years ago at Euro 2013.

Spain XI: Panos, Torrejon, Pareira, Paredas; Corredera, Losada, Meseguer, Putellas, Ouhabi; Hermoso, Sampedro.

Tom and 20 others: Scotland once again extremely poor defensively. No team can get into its stride with mistakes like that going on at the back.

  8. Spain being tipped by esteemed companypublished at 19:07 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

    England v Spain (19:45 BST)

On our first morning in Utrecht, I had an interesting conversation with former Germany coach Silvia Neid in the hotel gym (I haven't been since).

She was among those who tipped Spain for the tournament, in addition to Germany and France. England were absent from her list, although I wonder if she's changed her mind since the Scotland victory?

Anyway, Silvia is a good judge. She won the European Championship three times as a player and twice as a manager and her backing comes after Spain won their first Algarve Cup in March, beating the higher-ranked teams of Japan, Norway and Canada along the way.

This will be no walkover for England.

  9. Sampson warns of 'dark arts'published at 19:03 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

England boss Mark Sampson has certainly been stoking the fires this week, warning his team about Spain's "dark arts". That translates to "ill-discipline, feigning injury and getting around the referee," according the the Welshman. "It makes them difficult to love," he added.

Spain head coach Jorge Vilda didn't bite in the press conference on Saturday evening, but you wonder what effect it might have on the Spanish team talk?

For the record, both Jill Scott and skipper Steph Houghton are on yellow cards.

So, we'll bring you some reaction from the Scotland camp shortly, but next up is England's game against Spain in Breda.

    FT: Scotland 1-2 Portugal

So Scotland remain rooted to the bottom of Group D, with two defeats from two so far.

Portugal join England and Spain - who meet at 19:45 BST - on three points.

Two teams will go through to the quarter-finals, as there are four groups of four teams at this expanded 16-team Women's Euros.

  12. 'Not good enough'published at 18:56 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

  13. Scottish hopes dashed?published at 18:54 British Summer Time 23 July 2017

    FT: Scotland 1-2 Portugal

With that defeat, Scotland must now hope that England win tonight against Spain, or Anna Signeul's side will be mathematically eliminated.

Even if England do manage to do the Scots a favour later, things still look bleak for Scotland, as they'd need to beat Spain on Thursday - with a significant goal-difference swing - and hope England also beat Portugal, to avoid going home early.

    Scotland 1-2 Portugal

Time is up. Portugal celebrate their first ever major-tournament victory.

Scotland's hopes of staying in Women's Euro 2017 beyond the group stages are now extremely, extremely slim.

Scotland win a corner deep, deep into stoppage time, but there's a foul on the keeper and that, surely, will be that.

It's all getting oh so frustrating for Scotland.

Portugal are creating chances on the break, but Suzane Pires' effort is well held by Gemma Fay.

The Scots simply have to get the ball forward now.

    Scotland 1-2 Portugal

Scotland are throwing almost everyone forward, but Leanne Crichton can't quite get a shot away inside a crowded area.

Diana Silva - who has looked very talented in the midfield - is withdrawn and Laura Luis comes on for Portugal instead for the closing moments of this match.

Scotland have a chance to get a cross in but Lisa Evans is tackled down the right. Portugal can wind down more valuable seconds now.

Portugal have the ball around the corner flag and are winding down the clock.

There'll be four minutes of added time.
